  1. You're right about some lights being too bright. The best fox light I have used was a roof mounted Cibie with a spreader lense. It gave a huge width of beam without the concentrated central spot. They take the cheap HS4 halogen globes too. Horses for courses, ... but it's not always about maximum candlepower. Cheers, C
  2. This is the Carson cover and shoulder harness that comes with the binoculars. https://youtu.be/Vazy3CyA6js C
  3. Optic, ... how long have you had your Carsons and what's your opinion of them ? Cheers, C
  4. I got that harness with my new 3D Carson binos but haven't even considered using it. I'm quite happy with a neck strap. I guess it would help if you are crawling about or running after game. Then again, I don't plan to do any running, crawling or belly flopping at my age. Tripods rule ! C
  5. Apparently they are available on Ebay here. At double the price of USA ! I think I'll buy mine there. C
  6. Anyone got a set of Carson 3D ED Bino's ? Apparently they're not available here but are very popular in the US. I have the opportunity of getting a pair brought back over Christmas. This review is encouraging, ..... http://www.opticsreviewer.com/nikon-monarch-5-vs-bushnell-legend-ultra-hd.html C
  7. Go with the brands that offer a lifetime warranty and then choose a pair that suits you personally from a retailer. Best advice I can offer. C
  8. Fortunately, I think most of us with experience are, but give a though to the newbies and youngsters that are are just starting out in the sport. Cheers, C
  9. Have to agree VW. However, a lot of people do find first contact with someone a little daunting, ... whether it be online or face to face. Cheers, C
  10. G'day Bazz, welcome aboard. Another lost Kiwi, eh bruv ? First thing you've gotta learn is the Gold Coast is in Queensland, ... not NSW ! Cheers, C
  11. G'day Steve,Just finished reading you posts on 4umer about your recent cattle muster. Looks like you could use a few scrub bull hunters over there. Welcome aboard. C
  12. Hi Fellow Hunters, I'm a 76 year old, retired to the Gold Coast, and have been a hunter, shooter and trapper since I was in short pants. I'm still wearing short pants, but it's now because of the great weather ! Currently I'm chasing fallow deer on the Darling Downs with a 7mm-08 and loving it. Coily
