  1. lots of them on ebay, that's where I got mine from
  2. I made a skinning knife out of an old shovel years ago and it held an edge better than any knife I've ever used, then I lost it. (cut it out with an oxy and I think this might have heat treated the steel a bit) never used saw blades before but I've heard they work. power hacksaw blades are also good apparently.
  3. deadwood knives have a good range of fixed blade knives 'Boker' are one of the better brands imo. search deadwoodknives.com an american site but great to deal with, I've used them a few times with no complaints.
  4. g'day all, I want to get a trailcam to set up hidden near my shed at home to keep an eye on things while i am away for a few weeks. there are heaps to choose from, wondering if anyone can point me towards a good value for money one, needs to be infa red and obviously weatherproof. cheers.
  5. these are good. you can get torch, rechargeable batterys, charger, and power converter all for around $50. search through the website and you can get scope mounting stuff for it as well. and only about $3 I've got one here somewhere but its 'misplaced' at the moment. hoping it will turn up again one day. http://www.dealextreme.com/p/ultrafire-kf-t60-ha-ii-xm-lt60-5-mode-1200-lumen-white-led-flashlight-with-strap-1-x-18650-57003
  6. According to whats written on the box.... pro Safe, anti theft safe- key-combination. 5mm door thickness 3mm body thickness weight 13 kg height 250mm, Width 350mm, depth 250mm. not sure what the regs are for handguns, but these safes seem sturdy enough. even got carpet on the floor. no complaints from me for $75.
  7. Just a heads up on some small safes that are half price at Home Hardware stores. I bought one, they are great! only $75, with key and combination lock, shelf and a free small cashbox inside. I bolted mine on top of my gun safe to store exess ammo. thinking of buying another one to keep other stuff in as well.
  8. thinking of buying one to call foxes in close rather than the traditional button type whistle, Just after some feedback, good or bad. thanks.

    What Knife?

its a fairly well known fact that german steel is top class, so any knife with german steel will serve you well. the knife in the link is german, so should be a good buy at under $80 delivered.

    What Knife?

http://www.deadwoodknives.com/ i've dealt with these guys 3 times and found them very good to deal with. And $8.95 shipping from the U.S, doesnt get much better. if you buy a Boker knife you will have it for a lifetime.
  12. I've got one, dont be fooled by the freebies, they are not the best quality but the safe is great. i could'nt get the digital key pad as they were sold out. no probs with delivery.
  13. thank all i have an order on its way, under $50 for torch, batterys, charger scope mount and converter, and free shipping
  14. thanks everyone, cant seem to find a mount or aussie power adapter. i found torch no worries, i will order one when i can find the other bits. Could some one post the links? cheers.
  15. I'm after a torch and bracket to mount on a .22 for night walks. Can anyone recomend a particular one? needs to be extra bright as the old eyes arent what they used to be budget up to $150 thanks. cheers, joog

    Gun Safe

I emailed them on the 21st, still no reply. they obviously dont want my money, so i will shop elsewhere. thanks for the feedback.
  18. Has anyone got some feedback on these safes? seems a reasonable deal. http://www.gunsafes.com.au/gunsafes_7.htm or can you recomend any safes in a similar $300-$400 price range. thanks
  19. how secure do you want them? To satisfy the requirements they only have to be in a lockable metal or hardwood container. heaps of those old brownbuilt lockers available cheap at places like paramount browns even those metal lock up cabinets that you can get at stratco and hardware shops for around $100 will do the job, and their big enough to store other stuff in as well.
  20. Hi all, just joined up as a member. a bit about me... 42 years young, born and bred in the bush, spent 10 years of my first 15 with a rifle in my hand, moved to city, got married. Due to mortgages, bills, low income and selling my rifles years ago i let my firearms liscence lapse. (big mistake)i have bought property near Cowell on the eyre peninsula (moving soon) and i am now in the process of regaining my firearms liscence and getting back into the sport. I didnt realise how much i missed it until now, i feel excited like a little kid at the prospect of shooting again. hope to get lots of enjoyment and info from this site, I apologise in advance for asking too many questions about this, that and the other....but a lot has changed with guns and especially scopes, optics, etc in the 20+ years since i last used them. cheers, regards joog (greg)
