  1. Contact Al Rogers from Aussie Tracker repairs, he is a top bloke and will sort you out. He is also a hunting guide with his own business Saratoga Fishing and hunting Adventures, so he uses his own products for his dogs. He deals with Garmin too.
  2. Torch body was 1" All good now, I picked up a real good mount at the SSAA shot expo today, fitted perfectly and is tight as.
  3. I might wait for the show that is on next weekend then Do you think it will work ok with a VX3-L and a wolf eyes sea lion torch ?
  4. Where did you guys get the Aria mounts from ?
  5. Incorrect buddy, no need to separate bolt and gun, ammo must be locked away separate from the firearm.

Don't tick deer off your list - just fallow. Go the mighty Sambar next.

  8. I have the big wolf eyes sea lion, throws a good light but don't expect the same results as a roof mounted spot light. They are constructed from aluminum, not steel as previously stated.

  10. I have the wolf eyes sea lion hunter, the claim of 300 meters is a far stretch of the truth, the light may project that far but from my experience its next to impossible to spot game from that distance. The beam at that distance is very tight, so your spill area is reduced greatly when using that long distance lens/globe supplied. Unless you are walking around looking through your scope you just wont effectively spot game at extended distances. Its good as a back up once you have spotted the game with the big car light just in case your mate isn't pointing the main light where you want it. You just can beat the roof mounted spot light for spotting game.
  11. I have a sunroof, using the Lightforce suction mount it works perfect and the handle is usable for both passenger and driver as the handle is smack bang in the middle of the cars cabin.
  12. Santa is bringing me the Wolfeye Sea Lion Hunter Hurry up Xmas !!! They are supposed to be very good, maybe a bit big for a .22 though... But one of the smaller ones would be great I haven't heard of the other brand so i wont comment on it... Just buy the best you can afford.
  13. To be honest i dont know a great deal about binoculars !!! I dont use them all that often, but i have a cheapish pair of bushnell ones that i got as a present from work for 10 years of service !!!
  14. Check on ebay mate and see what you come up with, also while the dollar is good look at a pair from the states, you might get a much better pair for your bucks over there.
  15. Just jump on the net in your lounge room, punch in your details and they will turn up to your house within a couple weeks..... http://earplugstore.stores.yahoo.net/earmuffs.html
  16. Well i got out to silverdale yesterday and had the whole range to myself all day !!!! Perfect windless conditions, just a lot of rain !!! The muffs worked great, i was able to have a conversation with the range officer with no trouble hearing at all. When the shot was fired they closed perfectly and i wasnt affected by any noise at all.
  17. i had a play with them, they seem great, should be up at the range tomorrow so see how they go.
  18. if you are interested i bought them from a site called earplug superstore, they seem to have a good range of items. http://earplugstore.stores.yahoo.net/index.html
  19. I told the missus i will wear them around her so i wont miss a thing she says but as soon as she raises her voice at me i wont hear a thing
  20. I decided to spend that bit extra and buy overseas so at least i get a very good quality pair.... dont forget that this pair would be over 300 dollars here in Australia..... I could of spent 90 dollars and bought the SSAA ones, but i thought i will spend just a bit more and get a pair that are much better quality... So for the extra 50 or so dollars you are getting a quality pair of earmuffs that are way to expensive to buy here....
  21. sounds great, it will be like a sixth sence now The main reason i bought them though was the safety reason, i have never been a fan of restricting my hearing whilst out hunting, i personally dont think it is safe to do so. Thats why i think the electronic ear muffs are great, you protect your ears whilst still being able to hear your mates properly.
  22. Sound is actually amplified when there is normal low level noise, so you can actually hear better, but as soon as the sound level exceeds 80-85 decibles the muffs shut and your hearing is protected. I think they are a good idea when you are around guns because you can still hear your mates properly but ears are protected when a shot goes off. Might even be able to hear animals better in the field Less time fumbling around with ear plugs before you let a shot off... I had a muzzle brake fitted to one of my rifles so its pretty damn loud now, i shot it without hearing protection and it hurt !!!! Also the new addition of my 300 win mag is pretty loud.
  23. I just received my new electronic ear muffs from the states, they work great They cost me $ 97.95 for the muffs $38.50 to deliver total was $136.45 They are Peltor Tactical sound trap electronic ear muffs. I called up a local gun shop to see the difference in price and while they didn't have the exact model, they had the same brand but a slightly lower model i dare say because they didn't have the Aux output jack.... They wanted $295.00 for the bloody things !!!! I do like to support local shops, but im not stupid to just throw away 300 odd dollars !!! These are really slimline muffs and seem to work great, i tried them on at work
  24. if you want to use it to find your vehicle, the Etrex will do what you want for not much cost .... I have one and it does the job
