  1. I bought the dea extreme one mentioned in the other scope mounted torch thread i think its a 501b ultrafire. Anyway all my friends bought them too and dad has got a couple for his guns and sold around 20 package deals of lights, batteries, mounts and charger at various cutting horse shows. My friend uses one on his 223 and he reckons it will light up as far as he will normally shoot. I have taken head shots on wallabies at about 110m with mine. definitly worth the money, we usually get about 3 hours out of ours, which is convenient cos our usual round takes about 3 hours and i'm stuffed by then anyway haha. If the start to go flat they flash, getting faster as they get flatter. but they don't loose brightness cos they are voltage regulated. Haven['t had one break yet either and they have been treated ROUGH! If you do buy one my recommendation would be to get a coupld of the lenses though. You have to buy a different lens to change the light from flood to spot and when dad bought his bulk lot we noticed a rather large difference in the quality between the lens'. Some would artifact or have a larger spot or make the spot a funny colour. So yeah get a coupld and then you can pick the best, plus you have a spare in case you scratch one, though I never have!! Anyway I would definitely recommend that setup over the p7. even if the p7 is slightly better light, I would still say the deal extreme light has a more robust body and you can buy replacement bits for stuff all, though its so reliable I haven't needed any, plus its like a quarter of the price by the time you buy batteries and charger!
  2. you wiggle it around till it's right. i got the solid mount from deal extreme. Its meant to have the diamond shaped end on the barrel and the round end on your light, but I switched it so the round end fits the scope and the triangle end fits the light with some slightly longer screws and filing the light back a bit to fit. http://www.dealextreme.com/p/2-75-inch-flashlight-and-laser-universal-gun-mount-5819?item=153 I had to laugh at last years agfest this guy was selling them for $45 each and he sold out!! Dad was getting the light, the spotlight lens, batteries, charger, mount and pressure switch for $36 all together!! He ended up selling like 12 sets at $100 each! Sneaky bugger didn't even give me a cut!!
  3. ^^^ Spot on. Thats what I use, only instead I use a solid mount cos I used the velcro one and didn't like it.
  4. sounds like you need a scope mounted light if its just you by yourself. have a search cos theres a couple of good threads on this on the forums, just can't bothered reposting the info!
  5. yeah at the moment its sitting on top of the safe with everything that I usually take with me (except ammo and mags) in it. So all i have to do is grab ammo and mags and shut it up and Im off. Much better than the multiple trips to the car I used to make!
  6. ah bummer!! Hopefully mine lasts a bit better. The annoying thing is I have plenty of space in the main part of the safe but barely any in the ammo section I did have a look at bunnings for a case first but they didn't really have anything i liked. Jaycar have something about twice as big and its also like $60
  7. Hey guys!! So let me tell you a little story! I shoot at a friends property regularly, probably more often than at my place to be honest! He has a nice tikka t3 223 which works well. Him and his brother used to always spotlight out of a vehicle so they only needed one rifle between them. Anyway I read on here about some scope mounted lights and bought one....then dad bought one....then he bought a bulk buy of 10 and sold them on to his friends and of course my friends wanted one too. This definitely made us much more efficient and varmint extermination as now rather than one 223. we take their 223, my 22lr and my 22 mag. So this led to a little problem. I was now carting 2 rifles in bags, 2 lights with mounts, spare batteries, a handful of magazines, and a heap of ammo. The problem is while its fine to just chuck it all on the front seat, its not exactly secure plus as my friends place is down a really windy road my mags would always end up under the seat or in really random places hahah. Also I had too much stuff to fit in the pockets of the gunbags plus the mags always fell out of the pockets. So I was keeping my eye out for a nice container to keep everything in. Tried a lunch box, which as okay, but not really big enough plus looked a little pathetic. So then I was thinking what about one of those little aluminium, foam lined cases? Had a bit of a look round the internet and figured I was looking at about $30 a case. But was really struggling to find something in a suitable size. I'm didn't really want a briefcase size one! Anyway a bit of mucking around later I discovered this case on ebay. All the other cases were from america for A LOT or tiny and meant for tattoo guns or something. But this one is actually the perfect size and even locks up!! The best thing is it only cost me about $10 plus $13 postage!! Its in Aus and you get a free poker set with it hahah. Sure its not incredibly secure but it does lock well enough to prevent casual opening of it. Its big enough to store a heap of ammo ( for a rimfire hahah) , some mags AND the lights. And it looks nice!! I'll chuck the ebay link up if thats okay with admin. if not people can always message me about it! http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/130621503372?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649 One thing I would like some opinions on is if i were to leave my ammunition in this case locked. Then leave the case inside the main area of my safe, would that count as being locked inside a separate container? IE. the small ammo portion of my safe is FULL and it would make life easier if i could leave my GO ammo in this case in the base of the safe! Anyway go nuts people Cheers Mark!
  8. when did you make the deal extreme order? I made one on the 25th and its still ssaying they are waiting for a supplier!
  9. cool. That was actually exactly what I was worried about hahah
  10. JUst a quick question. Would this mount work with this light? I am using a ultrafire 501B with this mount. http://www.dealextreme.com/p/2-75-inch-flashlight-and-laser-universal-gun-mount-5819 What I have been doing is getting some slightly longer screws and file a little groove for each so the light fits it right. Its been really good and all my mates have bought the same setup. We shoot out to 100/150 metres with it and its really good. However I'm always on the look out for something better so I thought I might try this one out!!
  11. I just realised that I got a similar torch which was recommended in the other gun mounted torch thread! Oops http://www.aushunt.com.au/Forum/index.php?showtopic=17836&view=findpost&p=207033 Also I think you guys should check out the charger that is listed in that post it looks a lot better than the one listed above. Also the torch I got only has one mode. With the painting the reflector dads light doesn't have it and the light shows a bright square with some wider rings around it, mine is painted and only shows the square and definitely has a longer range but is a bit harder to find running rabbits sometimes cos there isn't any spread. I would be interested to find out if the torch in this thread is better than the one I got!
  12. I decided to buy the wf008 and when dad heard how much they were he goes oh yeah chuck one in for me, anyway having used it he is buying another for his other gun!! Another thing is I took it too my mates place where they shoot across a gully out to 200m every night and they are big into HID torches (which all broke really quickly). So when they saw the light mounted on my rifle they had a bit of a laugh. After they used it they all want one too!! I painted the reflector on mine and it really gives it a heap of range however I would maybe recommend trying it out without painting the reflector first especially if you are only shooting out to 100m. I find up close I sometimes struggle to find running rabbits in the painted reflector small spotlight. I bought the velcro mount and hated it, couldn't get the damn thing to stay straight on the rifle. I also got a hard mount which fits my scope nicely but the other end of the mount doesn't fit the light properly. Having said that I love this light and at under $50 for the whole get up with charger and spare batteries I am really glad i didn't get the Lenser P7 at $130 without batteries or charger. Oh and another thing is the batteries say they will only last 40 minutes or so, so i was carrying a spare battery everytime I went out, anyway after going shooting around 5 times which came to say 4 or 5 hours of shooting the light still hadn't got dimmer or cut out but I charged it again just in case! I couldn't believe how long it lasted, I reckon I had it on for 2/2.5 hours! Anyway we have 6 batteries so we would have spares and I really doubt I will ever need them hahaha
  13. There aredifferent stocks for the toz 78's the one on this site

    http://www.usedguns.com.au/used_air&rimfire_rifles.html#rimfire

is the same as the one on the wildcat but I though the stock was too small so I got a full size one. The other rifle which i looked at is the zastava 22lr.

If you like i can give you the details for my local dealer and you can see if they can o...

  14. Well I found one second hand and that dealer doesn't stock new ones. However another shop near me had 2 in stock and sold them when I was looking, so I assume they can still order them. The other gun to look at is the winchester wild cat, its made by toz. However im reasonably sure winchester has discontinued them, though that was very recent so there should still be some around.

  15. i guess you have a toz concidering our name and im very interested in buying one. any help?
