  1. Ive got a Garmin MAP62s and its been great so far...
  2. Garmin Gps 62s, great little unit. Also can send your location/waypoints to other garmin units. My mate has a rhino unit not sure what model but its with UHF built in and hes not happy. Apparently the uhf is below the standard quality and the battery dont last very long.
  3. Thanks fellas, Just had a look at the shonkymaps, the question is how do i install them? and there is 4 sets of maps? Large-scale overview maps of Australia, Detailed maps of Austrlia and there are 2 more. Which one do i need? Thanks!!
  4. Hi all Quick question regarding my new Gps, it dont have any maps preloaded so what sorta map do i need to buy for hunting?? Ive had a look around and I found one called "Australia & New Zealand TOPO MicroSD Map Card for Garmin'' Is that the one i need?? PS: What version? Now ive seen one and its marked as a version 3? Cheers
  5. GPS map60 csx, too good of a unit.
  6. Cam, you can get birchwood stuff from the states, have a look on ebay...its cheap too.
  7. Funny you mentioned it...a mate of mine was looking at the same idea a few weeks back..I must admit I laughed hard But eventually he found a perfect pair, Ive played soccer for 15 years so I know how boots feel but this pair that he bought are totally different than your normal soccer/footy boots. I think these are made for rugby?, they are hight boots covers your ankles and when you tied them up you can walk thru the mud and your feet still dry, water is probably a different story. They have changeable studs that he replaces with a smaller ones made of rubber or something. Anyway he likes them for everyday hunting but not too sure for high country stuff. If you want I can find out from him what sort and what make they are.......
  8. Bushnell Trophy cams are the way to go, model from 2010 and onwards... I bought 3 cams a few months back and all three are working above my expectations, each AU$160 delivered to my door. Also there very small in size, very easy to carry around and can be nicely hidden in the bush. anyway just my 2c
  9. Im looking at getting one of those I40, its not that expensive and its my first one. I'd like to play with it for a little while before I go out and spend big bucks on a good quality TC or I might even try building one. After all I did finish electronics eng diploma. But, my question is; what do you mean 15 sec delay between pictures? that's ridicules! Can someone who owns an I40 share some cons and pros on this unit? Thanks...
  10. BTW is there something on your mind that you're not telling us as to why you need such set up? maybe we can help even more? Is this only for driving or do you want to use em as spot lights as well?
  11. Usually your normal hi-beams would be sufficient enough for spread beam for off side light and 2 pencil spoties would be good for the distance... anyway thats what I use and its not to bad. If your still not happy then I guess you'll have to invest in 2 each.
  12. Yep, same here! Very good unit and rugged too!
  13. I've got Nikon Monarchs 8x42 and im happy, and yes i do use them every time im out.
  14. Nikon Monarchs here, 8x42 perfect for sambar hunting.
