  1. Alf is the name Im in Albany WA.

  2. Where you at, mate?

  3. Cam As well as being hot, those boots weigh over 2kms. That's a lot of weight to be dragging around if you are covering any distance on foot. The only boots I can comment on are Hi-Tech Magnums, but they are a bit pricey. I bought my first pair in 1996, when I was a cop in UK (I know, I know!!). They did a lot of plodding, a fair bit of running and a bunch of cold weather crap too. They lasted me for 10 years and then they were in a gear bag which was nicked. The only consolation is that the their probably fainted when he opened the bag and got a whiff of 10 years worth of my feet. I joined the mud army after the recent floods up here, but didn't have any boots, so I bought another pair. The designed is improved, very waterproof and they have a zipper and laces, which is more useful than some might think. The laces ensure that you get a comfortable and snug fit and the zipper means you can get in and out of them quickly. You can see them at http://www.legear.com.au/hi-tec-magnum-boots-australia-p/magnum-1153.htm Good hunting Skully
  4. Hi DG Had a look on the net and the WF-008 is a good looking bit of kit. Where did you order it from and how will you attach to your rifle? Scope or barrel? Cheers Skully
  5. B ugger, I just realised that your profile tells you who has been viewing your profile. Given that your BS meter is apparently very accurate, let me just say that I was impressed with you recent response to the "Finding a Property to Hunt" was educational and informative. I've just burnt may camo gear and signed up for a chippy's course. Kidding mate, good advice for newbies ...

  6. Three week wait for safety course, 10 days for certificate, 6 weeks for licence, 28 days for PTA.... dammit, I've already bought my rifle!!

Hi mate, sadly in Qld, where you have to obtain your licence before you can apply for PTA. Oh well, they say patience is a virtue!

  8. G'day all Just moved back to Brisbane from Sydney and taking up shooting again after a few years (ex-Royal Navy). Waiting for all the boxes to be ticked for my licence and starting off with a Ruger .223. Just joined SSAA at Belmont. Will start off target shooting and then hopefully get some invitations to go hunting. Also setting up to do hand-loading at home. Cheers Skully
