  1. I use a powabeam i think it's the 9 inch light. Its halogen and it shines further than I can shoot accurately. And it's all metal.
  2. YouTube is a good spot to see how to make your own tenterfield whistle and they do work.
  3. I've got the wolf eyes Night Hunter it's excellent, not cheap but very good quality. It has adjustable beam and would easily light up enough for night rides on your mtb.
  4. +1 on the nighthunter from wolfeyes. I have and use one it is brilliant.

    What Knife?

I just bought a Razor Blades skinner,Red Stag knife . Made in aus off ebay from brisbane_knives. I got it real cheap because I was the only bidder. It has a burl wood handle and looks and feels really good. I have not used it yet but it is real nice to look at and hold. Check out Brisbane_knives on ebay.
  6. I have a uniden UHO76sx it is a 5WATT radio and it works very well. I think if you stick with the top brands you will be happy. Have a look at batteryshack.com they were the cheapest I could find last year.
  7. I have a wolfeyes NIGHT HUNTER it is really impressive. Heaps more light than a dolphin or mag light torch he he he I use mine on my 22 hornet and it is spot on for this rifle. I will try it on my .243 soon The only thing I dont like about it is the tape switch. Trying to hold pressure on it whilst trying to aim I found difficult as it would cycle through its different light modes if you did not hold enough pressure on the switch to keep it depressed all the way. I would say it lights up well enough for a shot out to around 150 meters through a scope.
  8. I use a petzl myo xp it takes 3 aa batteries is very bright and lasts for ages on a set of batteries.
  9. I use a wolf eyes night hunter. It is on my 22 hornet and it shines further than I can shoot accurately when walking. I reckon it gives useable light out to 150 meters which is spot on for the hornet. It was not cheap but it is good.
  10. Benelec explorer pack. you get two antennas a small one i think a 2db for the hills and a 6db as an alrounder.
  11. I find that a tenterfield whistle works where there arent any bunnies. They are real easy to make and sound more like an injured bird. They have a nice raspy sound quite different to the button whistle.
  12. I dont know about the wolf eyes sea lion hunter but I do have a wolf eyes night hunter and it is briliant. I have it on my .22 hornet and it is excellent. It throws a beam further than i can shoot accurately. I imagine the sea lion hunter would be brighter and throw further which would have to be incredible as it is much more powerful than the night hunter. As you say the wolf eyes are not cheap but they are very well made you can just see and feel the quality in them.
  13. I have a night hunter by wolfeyes scope mounted on my .22 hornet. It is perfect for this rifle. I can id animals at 150 and out to 200 meters through the scope. It has screw type focus and can be used as a flood or spot. It was not cheap but it is very well made. The beam is square in shape shape and is very bright. I dont know anything about other torches all i can say is the night hunter is an excellent torch. I bought it offf www.wolfeyes.com
  14. The set trigger is working yes yes yes
