How do you guys find the etrex in cloudy days and thick scrub? I have an older Garmin GPS 12 model and these days it takes forever to find sats and has been found to point in the wrong direction while walking, therefore as a result, I to am in the market for buying a new GPS. How long does it generally take the etrex to find sats etc? I’m fairly new to the sport of deer hunting and most of the spots I walk in are new areas, therefore I would like a GPS I can be 100% confident in, whether its rain, hail or shine. Its use will hopefully be reduced once the surroundings are learnt etc, although will always be at hand.
In addition from some research I have done the basic etrex comes standard with a high sensitivity antenna, where the GPS60, more expensive models don't. At the end of the day I'm just interested in gaining a good signal in the outdoors and finding my waypoint, i.e. sign or car quickly. Is this what you fellas have found with yours?
Any help will be appreciated.
Cheers
