  1. I ended up getting a wolf eyes sea lion hunter. Great for a mounted torch but can get a bit heavy
  2. I just got the sea lion hunter about four days ago and from what ive seen so far it looks amazing. Its really well constructed but a little heavy due to being made out of steel. It came with two interchangeable globes one for throw and the other has a bit more flood. I havent used it in the field but ive been using it at night around my street and it easily reaches out to 150 meters and thats with streelights around. I imagine it could easily throw enough light for the ranges you are looking at. It is quite expensive but great quality. It also came within two days by express post
  3. For rifle mounting would the M8 be more appropriate than the pro-1?
  4. Ok so if i were to purchase the pro 1 and expect to get it working with the rechargable 18650 batteries i'd have to buy these two things???? http://www.solarforce-sales.com/product_detail.php?t=LF&s=26&id=137 http://www.solarforce-sales.com/product_detail.php?t=BC&s=23&id=122
  5. Cheers for the info guys looks like i have a bit of research to do but the solarforce is looking quite appealing. I definately want the rechargeable li ion batteries because atm the p7 just drains batteries. It's a great little torch but i'm just after that little bit of extra light penetration and run time
  6. Hey all. I know there have been a few posts on LED torches but i was just wondering what kind of spotlighting setup everyone has. My friend and i have two LED lenser p7's just for walking round the paddocks ontop of our 22s but we only seem to get 1.5 to 2 hours of usable light even with lithium batteries and then only with 80 meters of good light. I've just purchased 17hmr for the occasional fox that we see at a longer distance and was looking at the wolf eyes sea lion hunter LED thats meant to have a projection of 300 meters but its three times the cost of a p7 so was interested if anyone could suggest some brands or models that would be good to check out? I know that the wolf eyes is designed for hunting but does it justify the cost? cheers

  8. Hello, my name is Connor. I currently own a .22lr. I joined to get some much needed information about australian shooting, as im in the process of buying a larger caliber rifle to do a bit more serious hunting.
