  1. Crap my hand held isn't upgradeable and it's only 3 years old. Looks like I'll offload it while I can and get a new one. The one in the car has no chance.
  2. How long do you think it will be before you get the postie bike going mate?

I would be keen to go for a mail run/hunt. I mostly go Eildon. About 2 hrs from Melb to destination.

  3. I've got two Camelbaks, an approx 10 year old Blowfish I use for bike riding and running and a 2 year old Commander. Both are great, only gripe with the hunting line is most are 2 litres. I wanted 3, but that means a much bigger pack. It's not quite big enough for backpacking but it's a bit too big for day trips. I'm sure it'll come in handy one day when I can fill it with meat. All the pockets are rather handy, I've got everything nicely sorted and don't have to go rummaging through all my gear to get one thing. I got it from Snowgum at the Glen (which might not be there anymore? There's one at Knox), they had to order it in though. Cabelas is probably cheaper.
  4. im in mulgrave if you still need that lift. not far from you either, just near waverley gardens shopping centre.

    my number's 0402637051

  5. I've got two pairs that I kept when I got out, I wear them just because I have them. The soles fall to bits in no time at all, I killed a pair in 10 weeks at Kapooka (though I'm told they've got better since I got out). Blister wise I've never had a problem, but I've got fairly tough feet and very rarely get blisters. Waterproof? Hah, not a chance in hell. I wouldn't pay for them, but these were free so I'll use them til they are completely stuffed.
  6. Cheers guys, head off to Bunnings this week and see what I can knock up.
  7. Went down to sight in my rifle today after the scope had been off for some warranty work, only to have the wind constantly blow targets off the metal frames the range sell. And shooting the frame completely stuffing it. Decided to knock up a wooden one that I can staple targets to. What wood should I be using? Got a .30-06 so it'll have to take a bit of a beating without splintering everywhere.
  8. I've got the Lokaway 4 (I think?) gun safe. Only got two rifles at the moment, both scoped. The design of the door is good for security but it can be a bit of a pain to get the rifles out without belting the scopes. In hindsight I would of got a larger model, but it does the job for now.
  9. When I did army recruit training they ran a trial on different lacing techniques. One was similar to that, though they only did the one loop half way up then laced the rest as per normal. I honestly can't say I noticed any difference. Though I rarely get blisters once boots are broken in, so maybe I'm not the best example.
