  1. Ah, fair enough, sounds excellent, but high end. So, if I wanted to dip my toe in the water so to speak, is their merit in going with the DIY night scope, or are their other better options now? Cheers
  2. Have been reading through some old posts on night vision, particularly the DIY NV designed by CJHawk and Optic from a couple of years ago. Given that a number of members have this now, just wondering if this is still the way to go for fox hunting on foot at night? I've also seen some homemade IR based camera on scope with IR torch setups which look worthwhile, also a factory gen 1, 5x power scope is reasonably affordable, would this be the way to go? Do you need another setup to see as you walk, in addition to the scope setup? Cheers.
  3. Garmin have just released a new range of Etrex. I bought one a couple of days ago, has 1.7gb internal memory plus a micro sd card slot. Also has updated antenna / receiver circuitry. With the usb slot it plugs into your pc and you can load custom maps and Garmin birds eye($40), which is pretty much google earth, which overlays your topo maps while out in the field. It's in colour and all this for $227! http://www.ja-gps.com.au/Garmin/etrex-20/
  4. G'day all, last hunted as a teenager, and getting back into it again. From Sydney, looking to hunt deer, pigs, goats and the usual smaller ferals. Hope to see you out there.
