Yeah for sure. They stop them banging around so much when you walk, and don't flop around under you when your ducking under branches and whatnot. Also I find they help you hold steadier as you can pull against the elastic.

I don't mind being wet so much as long as I'm warm.

Looks the goods. I've got a couple of their synthetic fleece tops and they're warm and fast drying. Seems to be good gear.
