  1. You problably right Jock, guns are addictive if you are interested enough. My safe was made at a factory years ago, by a metal worker, it can hold around 10 guns.
  2. They protect you from just about everything, except leaches.
  3. Powerbeam is more heavier then the Lightforce, beyond that its personal choice, you cannot go wrong with either.
  4. I had a power beam 9" for years, i just replaced it with a Lightforce 240Blitz. Nothing wrong with either, the newer lightforce spotys are much better then the older original ones. The handles suit either spoty, just make sure you get the nut on the top of the holder. http://www.lightforce.net.au/images/REMOTEMOUNTING.pdf http://www.lightforce.net.au/remote.html
  5. The chances of it happening is still pretty slim, ive had hundreds run past me. The only time one has had a go at me, the individual was provoked. An unprovoked attack, is like getting hit by a bus, i wouldnt be too concerned mate. But it could happen. Pigs are more scared of us, then what we are of them, trust me.
  6. "If" you dont have enough bandages, loosly wrap your shirt around the top half of your leg above the knee, then tighten the noose around it.
  7. Maybe he thinks while on his own he may be attacked, which is as rare as rocking horse poop. Just make that first shot count, why do you own a single shot 243 for pigs boong?
  8. boong, I do alot of solo hunting in the conditions you speak, i have a GME MT310 Epirb. Also the emergency number for your phone, if out of signal is 112. Yes the snakes are out now too, i seen my first over the weekend, a little brown. It also pays to have an outdoor first aid kit, you can get them from your local chemist. Maybe even throw a rope noose in just incase of a snake. Even if you are hunting with companions, these simple & lightweight tools can come in handy.
  9. They look a nice scope, i like the Viper 3.5-10x50 Dead Hold BDC. Even for AU buyers its still affordable & have lifetime warrantys.
  10. I have a Next G phone & Epirb, on my phone has the emergency number aswell, even if you are out of reception, it will work in emergencys. No 112.
  11. Im glad you bought it up, cos im after one too. The 17HMR isnt a long distance bunny popper, but the range finder will tell you the distance you are shooting at. They arent cheap either.
  12. The newer models appears to be 100% better then the older models, i just bought one recently, it is BRIGHT. You can also adjust the size of the beam too. As far as reliability goes, i dont no anybody that has had any probs with them. So far mine appears to be worth the money.
  13. Gday all Queenslanders, join in the comments dont be shy.
  14. I agree. You dont need spend a fortune on one, they work of the same bearings.
  15. I know few people that go hiking on a regular basis, & always recomend boots with vibram soles. Im on my second atm, & very pleased. (different to your brand) Though my first pair was better, till i took them to work & was cleaning paint brushes out with turps, turps melts the glue on the soles. $200 down the poop tube. You been for ride on your new pig bike yet?
  16. Ive done a quick search on this topic & cannot find one. I getting intereseted in them for my pig studys, if any body has one, id like to know how they work. 1. Are they watherproof. 2. Battery lastability. 3. Dark nights or moonlit nights, better or worse? 4. Film lenghts, video quality. 5. How sensitive are they to movement. ie, How far away does an animal have to be before it stops recording. 6. What is the recorded viewable distance you can see. 7. Are they worth buying & how much are they?
  17. I have a Fuji Fine Pix. They are about $400 new. Examples, http://aushunt.com.au/Forum/index.php?showtopic=5990 The pix have been reduced in size.^ When you zoom in it will pixelate. Camera, http://www.cnet.com.au/digitalcameras/came...39278658,00.htm You have settings to stop/create noises or flashes.
  18. Ive gone through this rigmarale before Xmass. I sent emails to Telstra stores in the bush, Dubbo & another country towns i dont remember. You must get the ones that have got the tick on the them for Rural reception. The one I was recommemeded, was the TU550. http://www.telstra.com.au/nextgnetwork/mob...phones_id=40433 The TU550 in Sydney, has better reception & covereage then my old Nokia CDMA. In the bush, it is marginally better then the CDMA i had, but still laking in better reception. My old CDMA had reception at Nevertire (NSW), the new TU550 has none. ON the farm out at Coolabah it is better then the CDMA, but does drop out alot driving along remote country roads. Recomended Next G rural phones, http://www.telstra.com.au/mobile/networks/...ge/maximise.cfm
  19. Aussie camo, made for australian conditions, its never let me down. PS. Siktoy has the same avatar as you on this site. http://aushunt.com.au/Forum/index.php?showuser=3703
  20. Ive got this, http://www.gme.net.au/garmin/gps60.php User friendly, long battery life, computer solfwear etc. I got mine about 2 years ago from Johnnyapplseed in Sydney for about $300. http://www.ja-gps.com.au/garmin_gps60.aspx Cheers mate.
  21. Gday fellas, Enjoy your visit, you all come back now, ya hear!!!!
  22. That is the general idea of it, but i find it darkens the light way too much, & you loose visual distance, its too red. The red is more designed for pigs, but id like to try the orange myself.
