Javelot are good, but old versions where we could carry spare batteries and just replace batteries as needed whilst in the field.
In new models you can not replace the batteries. It is a sealed unit. You can purchase another battery pack instead of spare batteries, which is just a sealed javelot body without head. What's even more stupid about this setup is that even if you purchase a replacement (spare) battery pack, it can not be charged unless the head of torch is screwed on to it, rendering it useless.
Just ridiculous ....
I returned my new model and got my money back. Whoever come up with this stupid design should have his/hers head examined.I agree, that 2nd battery charging sounds odd eh.
Ive never needed a 2nd battery, the run times is reasonable particularly if you dont run it on full power and or turn it off when not needed.

I can recommend the javelot turbo - brightest, longest led spoty Ive had. Both hand held and scope mount. Awesome kit.

For $180 I wasn’t hugely impressed…the Bunnings one looks good!
I got one of these from ebay a while back. Thats the best price Ive seen eh. I find them comfortable but Im a small fella.

I also like my hunting gear to have some stretch so is far more comfortable when active.

I finally got sick of freezing my arse off at basketball on Friday nights so did some searching on heated shirts.
Long story short, I ended up with one of these http://www.avade.com.au/
It works pretty well! So I thought if any of you were looking for warn hunting clothes, this might be up your alley. Looks like it was created initially for dirt bikers.
I’m rarely cold when I’m stalking (most likely because I’m unfit and walk too fast ) so I probably won’t use it for hunting but you never know.
If I had any recommendation, it’d be to grab an extra battery and a car charger.
Anyway, if you’re interested, this is an option that works. There’s a few options out there but I ended up buying this one because it is Aussie made.

Duncs, is this a legal post? Promoting a product - might need a business membership? 😱🤣😉

Hello, I’m 29 and live 30kms inland from Noosa. I hunt red deer mostly for meat and hopefully a double six eventually. I also chase pigs with my dog. I have shot mainly with my 270win, but lately I’ve been having good success with my Howa 308. I live on 100acres so I hunt a lot. I also do pistol shooting and like to smash a few clays every now and then. Looking forward to talking to some fellow hunters,
cheers
Hey mate, we'd all like to hear about your hunts and see some photos eh? I love red deer.

I’m sorry to say I haven’t taken it out even once yet to hunt other than to load it up and test it and set up the sizing. I got the pack I think just before we were locked down here in Sydney and lockdown cancelled all of my winter hunting. I mean all of it. But I have undone all the straps and played with it to see how to pack the meat. I think it will work very well in meat bags then strapped down all tight I was worried that if you had meat all the way packed from the bottom to the top of the meat shelf it might slide down with the weight wanting to go towards the ground obviously but I think if you have the straps tightened it would make it impossible for that to happen. But I haven’t used it for its purpose yet and don’t want to give anyone bad info so I can’t really comment on the pack other than it’s comfortable with 20kgs in it.
Yeah, the packs work very well imo. Packed out a couple of fallow now (previous hunting reports). Any boned out meat will tend to slump to the bottom of course but existing straps ensure it doesnt fall out. If worried, can use small type meat bags to pack in tight or perhaps an extra tie down strap. Ive not found it a big issue.
