Ive never had problems with mozzies when its windy.

Im buggered if I can find a compatible UHF shoulder mic for my rino. I see garmin has a an ear plug and mic boom thingy but really prefer a shoulder mic. Has anyone found a compatible shoulder mic? Cheers.

I got a horn hunter pouch- cheap on amazon a while back.

The other thing I'd add is I like the pouch that opens away from me and has magnetic close - no fumbling with hooks and shit. My pouch opening can be left open for easy in and out. Some pouches open towards you and access is more difficult - in fact, I don't know why any designer thought that is a good idea. As you said camoman - each to their own, what ever works for the individual hunter.

WTF? What, they get upset if youre not wearing the right brand? Ha ha. I use a pouch as it stops my binos from dragging in dirt, grass and bush. If im walking I leave it out of pouch for a quick view. Wouldnt be withoit it.

I roll with vortex diamondback HD, 10x50- around $400-$500.

If i was looking for another pack id check the caribee pulse or cadet or platoon in 65L To 75L for around $100. Ive got the pulse, light, solid construction, not tried on multi day hunts yet, but good padding & adjustable back setup. The molle straps allow for customisation and adding or subtracting pouches as you need. Another reason for the larger one is that you can strap it down when only doing day hunts, plenty of room if you get lucky and can use it on multi day hunts too. ?

Shit i would have been lost without my 750 recently in thickish bush- I tested myself before I checked it & i was way out.

good review HD -like the sax in the intro, sounded like a porno ha ha. Seriously, looks like a good value pack. I rate ebay for budget stuff too.

I recently purchased a new rino 750 without maps, wife doesnt know ha ha. Great unit but it has the crappiest base map Ive ever seen and Im guessing to motivate owners to buy their expensive maps!. But I bought the latest 2016 Garmin Aus & NZ Topo maps, V5 for $35 from a seller on Ebay as I resent paying $200 for garmin genuine. The seller tuned out to an absolute cock head, the SD card he sold me didnt load and it shuts the unit down every time I try to load. Im sorting this out with ebay now. My question to all you knowledgeable people is have you any hints or tips about maps, what maps are you running in your garmins and can you recommend a better map option please? ?

I work on a factor of about 50% on most range finders, so if its rated to 1000m count on the reliable max being about 500m in my experience.
