  1. Hey Rowes, I have this setup too and recently gave it a good run on a week away trip.I use a wolf eyes M2 mount though, quick and easy to remove, although a bit bulky looking, same torch and batter1es. Does it work? You bet! I had it on my 17HMR for the first and last night and accounted for 6foxes,2 cats and 6 bunnies in a hours walking between the two nights.I have had a few setups, but this one has been the best for what I am doing. And at the right price too I recon. They do need a piece of poly pipe to sleeve the 18650 battery for a neat fit into the tube,an easy thing to do.It insures good contact with the springs and stops the battery rattling.Another Fenring recommendation that is the goods.Merry Christmas!! I love Santa! Smithy PS I would go with the 4 battery /home /car charger if I was doing it from scratch.
  2. I also have a pair of Steiners preditor pros I purchased year before last. They are excellent, although a little high powered for close in bunny spotting.Never the less,a great improvement on my previous pair, crystal clear and great in low light. You will be pleased with them. Good hunting. Smithy
  3. I have bought a few pairs of boots from Cabelas.Their sizing ,if you read the conversion, I have found spot on.My Meindl boots are tops, although a little hot in summer, perfect in winter.THEY ARE NOT INSULATED.I wore them in the snow last winter, without an issue. They have as well a insole that is like a perforated mesh stuff that keeps your foot relatively dry in summer.Again, wandering around the bush in summer they are fine. Also a pair of Justin steel cap cowboy style boots from Sheplers.Again, perfect fit. Hope this helps. SMITHY
  4. Hi Jack,I have one and find it ok.Make sure you detatch it when you finish your run for the night,in winter (with frosty mornings)the ambient temp will cause it to detatch during the night, fall and damage your vehicle, possibly.Other than that I have found it good.I bought it for my second vehicle(new Hilux)when I cannot use my hunting swb toyota.Handle length will depend on your rig and comfort spot out the window I guess. For what they are worth I recon they are a good investment.I found that I needed to adapt it too suit the lightforce swivel arrangement, as I use the lighter one("T")The big one is a straight bolt in job.No real drama though if your a bit handy.Hope this makes some sense.Oh yeah, give the cups a bit of a lick, and make sure your roof is clean. Cheers,SMITHY
  5. Hi Jonathan,Mate do a search, there are some good threads on here about boots.Miendles, danners etc. Cheers Smithy
  6. They seem pretty good too! I bought the same from TOZ a few months ago, happy as with them.I think they were about $280.00 US then. Was when the dollar was 90 plus cents. Cheers, SMITHY
  7. sorry Len,didn't mean to raise my voice. Cheers, Smithy
  8. LOOKS LIKE THE GO IS IF YOU WANT TO KEEP THE SUEDE FINISH,USE NIKWAX,IF YOU DON'T CARE ABOUT THE SUEDE,GUESS IT DON'T MATTER WHAT YOU USE. I TOO USE DUBBIN ON ALL MY OTHER LEATHER ITEMS,I JUST WANTED TO KEEP THE SUEDE LOOK ON MY MEINDL BOOTS. SORRY IF I ALARMED ANYBODY. CHEERS SMITHY
  9. DONT USE DUBBIN ON NUBUCK LEATHER!!!! YOU MUST HAVE READ IT WRONG!!!THE STUFF TO USE IS NIKWAX NUBUCK AND SUEDE PROOF.YOU CAN GET IT FROM RAYS OR ANY OF THOSE TYPE OF STORES THAT SELL HIKING BOOTS. HOPE IT'S NOT TOO LATE
  10. Are they full grain leather or NUBUCK.There is different treatment for each and the wrong one will ruin them!! Cheers SMITHY
  11. Bag me out,.......like i said, just my opinion.Glad you could set things straight. SMITHY
  12. Bush pig,i am definitely no expert but 30mm is not going to give you enough light transfer i think for hunting optics,in late arvo and early morning. My thoughts only, talk to John at TOZ and explain to him what the specific purpose of them is.I am sure he will help. SMITHY
  13. Hey Gryphon,a quick check gives$169.99 USD.Looks like a handy gadget for those who get lost on a regular basis.! Cheers , SMITHY
