  1. Thought they had done away with licences' years ago. Have always wanted to get one but just never got round to it. Remember when I was School of the Air through Charleville years ago we used them. Channel 6945 was the one we used and there was also a channel 2020 for just general talk . Back in the day.
  2. But you can tell the rest of us Len
  3. I have a problem with people comeing onto our place and hunting and taking fuel. I am looking at some cameras to put around the place to get their number plates. The cameras have to be able to work at night with no flash visible to the naked eye. Any suggestions on what to get.
  4. Just had a look at Halls Gun shop's web site. Had a look at their Hall Balls. That is fair bit more then I sell mine for. I'm $50 for a box of 25 or $100 for 50. Cover my cost's + a small bit more.

  5. Hi patric.

You may be able to fast track the paper trail for me by pointing me in the right direction as to what paper work is needed.

    Cheers.

  6. Sorry fireman but some of our UHF's are up to 15 years old so there is going to be a long change over time if you are going to wait for them to break down. It might be different in the city's but out here every one has a uhf in just about every car, truck, dozer, grader and so on. Who's going to replace all these. Just another govt stuff up. Oh well, back to smoke signals i guess. And this year there will be some big ones.
  7. They are going to be busy going out and making people hand in all their old uhf's. I won't be handing in mine until they replace them.
  8. Just a quick question. Why will they outlaw 40 channel UHF's. My understanding was that they will only be able to be used on every 2nd channel on the new models. I can't see how they can outlaw 1000's of uhf's and make every one buy new ones. Just us for example, we will have to buy 22 new uhf's.
  9. We use GME TX6200's here when we are mustering and working. Great handhelds. Not one of those cheaper ones but you get what you pay for. that's what I have found anyway. Another one is called Icom IC-40. Think there is new models of both these out now.
  10. What about us people who have a lot of UHF's. We have one in every vehical and bike as well as 5 hand helds. Total = 23. Do we have to rid of all these to be able to hear people who get these new 80 ch units. This is the first I have heard about it.
  11. We use hand held 2 ways when we are mustering. We can get over 8km with them in open country. We got mainly GMC TX6200 or ICOM IC40. Both great units.
  12. G-day all. I'm from Charters Towers. Only hunt on my own property for pigs and Dingos. Usually use a Whinchester Model 70 308 or a Parker-Hale 243.
