Thanks guys for the info think ill can the iluminated crosshair idea and go for the better quality optics on the elite 3200 help was greatly appreciated

Just in the process of getting back into shooting after quite a few years off Looking at buying a savage 17 and mounting a spotty with red lense on scope Question 1) Is there any problems with seeing the crosshairs on a normal scope while using a red filter on a spotty 2) Is there any advantage in useing a scope with illuminated crosshairs for this purpose? Currently looking at a bushnell elite 3200 in 3-9x40 as my first pick otherwise possibley a bushnell banner with illuminated crosshairs as my second pick any help greatly appreciated
