  1. WA has no policy/regs in regards to firearm bolts. BUT it could be argued that since they are part of a firearm they should not be stored with ammo (it be a real streach tho). Mind you, it would have to be a very broad stroke of the pen to say that they ARE a firearm, so I'd say it wouldn't be tested by the WA police. In fact todate, having had 3 inspections of my safe over the years, NO reference has ever been made to my bolts being stored with my ammo, good, bad or otherwise.

We have been trying to get written clarification from Customs that they will approve the import of this style of stock but have been unsuccessful. The issue is in relation to the interpretation of the Firearms Act, in particular the way the rear of the chassis is attached to the pistol grip (simply with 3 screws) which potentially changes the chassis length and style. If you as an individual wish to try and import please contact KRG directly.
  3. So true Len, so much so that I'm having to think about getting another rifle, the 22mag can't reach anywhere near the end of the beam and them damn fox's are staying further out now that I have shot a few (sounds like a good enough reason to me....hehehe). On a previous post about my own search for a spotlight, if you recall, it was yourself that put me in the direction of where I could get the Powabeam 11" HID from, an then I reported its far flung reach later in same post....somewhere between 2-3Km!!! (that was an a some what reflective surface - ie: side of a truck). Outstanding bit of kit.
  4. Powabeam 11" HID, is a damn search light! Love it.
  5. Seriously though, you only need to attach the safe onto 2 SIDES with 2 Bolts or Coach Screws per side, not 3 sides, so you only NEED 4 bolts or coach screws in total, re-read the schedule 4 bit again. Having said that I used a total of 8 through bolts on mine (yep that' s right, 8 Bolts right through the wall and the pad) and set them with cement permanently. Another option is Chem Bolts, expensive but work real well. If they do still insist on concrete pad/ brick wall, then build a small lean too/bunker by the side of the house with real solid lockable doors and plonk it in there. No law saying it has to be inside the house!
  6. Hey matey, if all else fail's, melt some shot into the bottom of the safe till its good an heavy (like 200kg or more) an then ask the sods to try an shift it!
  7. As per Schedule 4: 5. Anchoring (1) The cabinet or container is to be securely anchored from the inside at 2 points on each of 2 separate surfaces to 2 immovable structural surfaces by means of 8 mm x 75 mm masonry fixing bolts or coach screws, as is appropriate. (2) At each anchor point the cabinet or container is to be reinforced with a 40 mm x 40 mm x 2 mm metal plate, or a 40 mm x 2 mm metal washer, fitted between the surface of the cabinet or container and the head of the bolt or coach screw. coach screws = BIG ARSED WOOD SCREW!! So long as you are on a main structural joist of the all wood wall its all good, tell them coppers they need to read up on the regulations because their full of it.
  8. Knock ya self out with these! http://www.deben.com/hawke-laser-range-finders.html
  9. Not legal in WA with out every one who has access to the safe being licensed for ALL firearms in said safe, just thought I'd clarify that small point for those that may not have picked that up.
  10. I hear ya matey, I'm all thumbs with me mobile, so I know what ya mean!
  11. Hey Cameron. Question without notice! Now I'm not haven ago at ya matey Ok, but I was just wondering, is your keyboard a lefthand keyboard? Reason I ask is - damn matey I thought my typos were bad, but you......HOLY COW!!!!

  16. Thanks Alex, all info is good info
  17. Thanks matey, will reply ASAP, tad busy today however.
  18. cj7hawk Sorry for the delay in replying, been a tad busy with RL stuff. Ok, I have looked at quite a few LED IR Illuminators over the year's and I personaly can SEE the Beam that the illuminator's produce. On the other hand the 76mm Gun IR Illuminator I used on a MRV I couldn't see at all, now that thing was a 200watt converted search light that lit up the country side for miles through the gun site II. Now I'm not saying that the ones you have are like those LED types I have seen myself, but todate NONE have impressed me at all. So you will have to forgive me for being a bit sceptical. I think the best way maybe for me to eyeball the ones your refering too, an have a good chin wag with you about what I'm after, if thats ok with you.
  19. Burns - "Excellant Nitro, now release the dogs" Coolies So what was the jist of it if ya don't mind me asking.
  20. Outstanding matey Thanks again hey.
  21. Thanks Matey. Yeah I know about the import restrictions, funny thing is tho, its not illegal to use them in WA nor anything in regards to their output levels (least ways none that I have found so far). We do have laws against Laser Pointers which are not the same thing as an IR Illuminator. Since IR is invisable to the naked eye and requires some sort of passive II device to see them, there SHOULD be no restrictions on use, but thats to damn logical. So the only way I have been able to work around the issue is to get a high output xenon torch, change or paint the lens (you use deep blood red paint evenly an thinly coated on the INSIDE of the lens) and they will produce IR emissions, since now all that the torch will emit is heat - ie: IR (no visable light). The more heat you can direct forwards the further the coverage you can obtain.
  22. Yeah I have looked at a few so far, but most of them are all on the low side of output/coverage. You would be lucky to get about 30m coverage out of them. I'd like a lot more than that, hence the search for a high output xenon torch.
