  1. i have hole in the roof of my cruiser. brilliant. Blazalight handles are the go. Had powabeam handles in my last 2 and wasnt a fan. the other option to the 30-30 through the roof is one used by many shooters and pig chasers here. simple and efective for the single cab. it is simply a steel arm bolted or welded to the drivers side of the head board. the arm goes up on an angle to the hieght of the roof and then a piece of flat steel parallel to the roof which the handle is mounted through. some even have it interchangeable to the passenger side so your mate can spot while you drive. will tryt and get a photo for you.
  2. Shite a Brick. Yeah didnt think theyd be that much. Buy the handheld light on its own for $100 odd. then buy a kit to put it in. still come out cheaper.
  3. NightHunter, NiteEater spotties are designed by and for roo shooters. they are by far and away the best spotlight for shooting under. However, there is no one im aware of that can consistantly shoot to even 3/4 the length of the beam. In a good scope you can clearly see targets at 1-1.2km. Also the price tag is pretty scary. The small one start at about $600. big ones fetch $900+. The big Powerbeam($120+) and big Lightforce($150+) get aboutr half of that. and again very few people can consistanly head shoot at that range. The smaller Powabeam and lightforce are ideal for the keen spotlighter. provided ample light to 400m to shoot under and dont cost an arm and a leg. Around the ($100+)mark. Cheers J
  4. Slightly modified powerbeam handle. striaght through the roof. Where the alloy D handle is joined to the shaft i replaced it with a plastic shovel handle. much more comfortable. Am hearing good things about the new Blazalight handles. Very little resistance and lighter in the roof. i'll be putting one in my new vehicle(2 weeks can't wait). Cheers J
  5. your right i found em. but your right. trying to chose is the hard part. 2 or 3 knives in there that could easily fit into my kit,
  6. lamanna, impressive bit of gear. in fact all of those, fixed and folding seem to be hard as nails. practical to id reckon.cheers for that.
  7. no mate cant say ive heard of them. i take it they're not to shabby?
  8. yes the mass produced knives are slowly getting worse. only two i own and would ahve again are the old Puma and Svord. as far as produstion knives go some of the best
  9. lamanna have shapened s230v, and agree it was bloody hard. any 440 stainless ive been involved with havnt held edges well. even after the process of putting a good bevel on it. im a solingen steel fan myself. some of the best knives ive owned. how do ya like the Lansky? never used one. still scaping away on an arkinsaw stone.
  10. Apart from the serations, the blade shape isnt bad. But the 440 steel its made from is an absolute bitch to sharpen and doesnt hold the edge once its there. hope you enjoy it all the same
  11. Gday Fellas, just wondering if any of the resident butchers or aby workers could point me in the direction of a butchers supplier or similar. chasin a mesh glove. new or used doesnt matter. im left handed so not sure if they are reversable. any help would be appreciated. cheers J
  12. Some of us spotlight from the comfort of a vehicle for a purpose! and trust me after 8hrs + a night in a ute round shitbox paddocks its anyhting but comfortable. but it is not feasable to shoot roo any other way. In my opinion scope mounted spotlights are arkward and such can have effects on your shot placement. a roof or head board mounted light is much more effeicent . i shoot on my own 90% of the time and have no trouble shooting and moving the light even on fast departing mobs of pigs. cheers J
