    What Knife?

i have a buck 191 unreal to use and sharpens quick on a steel, if cutting through fur and then cutting up meat for the dogs i put it over the steel one or twice an animal and stays razor shapr not needed but makes life easy what ever you choose go for quality steel nothing worse then a knife that doesnt hold an edge and wont sharpen quicly
  3. i think it was the p1 with l2p and batteries and chrager was around $130. a mate is getting on off ebay for $35 including batteries and charger and has the same dimentions as a solarforce so i see soon if its worth it or save some more
  4. mate nothing beats a good old fashioned steel i take one everytime im cut up meat if you nic a bone of cutting alot of skin ya just whip out the steel and in 2 seconds ya got a good sharp edge again, even in the middle of the bush with no power
  5. has any one come accross the 'cree' torches they have a squre bulb thing aparently a 2mm square will throw enough light to read at 40m, i found some on ebay for 30-40 bucks for the 1000lm torch with 2 batteries and charger and the bulb is rated for 10,000 hrs anyone got any info good or bad, i was going solarforce but for 100 bucks less i might be going cree light
  6. hows the light throw and run time on the p1 it doesnt say on the site just trying to compare it to the M8
  7. which model is good for 150+m and how long do the batteries last?? i cant find much info on the web site cheers
  8. go the lightforce top quality good price and proven performance ask anyone whose used/owned one cant fault em really with the added bonus of scope mounts if your on ya own, and lense covers, red, blue, yellow etc for different animals and conditions pretty easy choice if ya ask me
  9. i'd second this choice good quality, easy to carry, has a sheath, old timers sharpen extreamly well (good steel used not sh!t) and a good price, perfect for rabbits and foxes nothing worse then a huge knife and small animal to dress, but you will have no trouble using a small knife on a bigger animal just takes a bit longer also you can find old timers like this for a bit cheeper at your lgs but still worth its weight at $80
  10. you cant go past the 75-100mm fixed blade, drop point skinners 'old timer' make a brillent one, they shapern easily and hold edge for ages i use it for bunnies to fallow dear works great easy to work with etc, id also reccomend a 'gut hook' the second on in sculpty's pictures saves popping they gut for a newbie however all said and done no knife is any good if you cant sharpen it and keep it sharp- invest alot of time here or get a old fella to show you the way nothing worse then dressing an animal and knife isnt sharp enough and ya can run down the shop to get it done when ya in the scrub, very vauble skill to have but lots of practice in it cos it aint easy to do it properly so it stays sharp just another 2c
