I researched about 6-9 months ago which GPS to get and i found the Garmin map 62s to be the best for what you would want to use it for. I got mine new off ebay around 4 months ago for $350 brand new, but like Duncs said, go to Anaconda, they run sales from time to time. Get your maps after for $30 or however much they are.

About 2 months ago i went for a bit of a shoot in state forest. The guy i went with had a handheld GPS unit, which i didn't think was necessary at the time. After walking a few hundred metres through bush, navigating through some thick bushes and up and down some hills, although i felt like i knew which way the car was, he informed me the car was actually 120° to my left. The whole time we were walking back to it i thought "surely this can't be right, i reckon its the other way" and sure enough - there was the car. It made me realise how easily i could get lost in forests, and i've decided i want to get a handheld GPS. I've been looking around, the ones i've seen are the Garmin etrex 20 and etrex 30. Does the Etrex 20 have no compass at all?? Just wondering what other models to look at? I suppose what i'm after is something that can have maps, and something that has an electronic compass in it too, to show me which direction i need to be heading etc.

Anyone know where i can get some of that 'realtree' clothing from? I'm after camo's but after a long sleeve t-shirt with the realtree camouflage, not just normal fatigues... I'll be at shot expo this weekend so any ideas if there will be any of that stuff there?

Hey everyone. My name is Dimitrios and live south east of Melbourne in Frankston. I'm 25, i've been shooting now for around 10 years. My first ever job i worked for about 2-3 months at $4.84 an hour, i saved up $660 and purchased my first firearm, and first ever purchase from saving for something! Its a CZ Brno .22 model 2 deluxe. It has a 6x40 Nikko Stirling scope on it. I've recently just done a trigger job on it as well - lighter and less creep. The kill count on this rifle is 1 fox, about 12-15 bunnies, a couple of birds and 2 ducks. This rifle has sentimental value as it was my first purchase ever, and it still looks as new. I'm in the process of purchasing a Remington 700 SPS tactical (20" barrell) in .308. Putting a Bushnell Elite 6500 4.5-30x50mm scope on it. I hunt foxes, rabbits, and looking to get into other animals too once i get the larger rifle, such as pig and deer and maybe kangaroos. I generally hunt for food, i'm not a big fan of a huge genocide! but i do enjoy killing...as bad as that sounds! The only prob is i have nowhere to hunt, hence why i'm joining this forum to hopefully find some fellow hunters to share stories, knowledge and some hunting adventures.
