  1. Thanks Fenring thata the info I am after, I will not be chasing absolute brightness as more is not neccesarily better. I will look into the night hunter Cheers
  2. G Day all, I have used a hand held torch while rabbiting Need to move up to scope mounted unit Can see the need for spill in spotting targets, will high intensity light stun the bunnies to stay still or make em run ? Should i go for the wolf eyes sniper 2 or the fenix tk 21 I like the idea of the fenix where intensity is set with front button on off with tape switch Does the wolf eyes use the same switching system I am thinking of these torches as I can purchase easily making custom job from bits and pieces not for me thanks.
  3. Good work Fenring your efforts are appreciated
  4. Thanks s Scott I will get onto dx

  5. G Day fenring,

I went rabbit shooting the other night with dolphin torch saw only one bunny didnt take a shot.

I have looked at solarforce site ,too many options,

I would like to buy L2 torch standard and make up a thrower as you have done,

    What part numbers ?

    Thanks Ralph.

  6. Thanks mate

Its not the cheapest option but I will get onto them

  7. G,Day Fenring I have located the led torch shop, looks to be in Victoria have you had any dealings with this mob also are ultrafire 18650 batteries good gear they come with the tl 100 charger thanks Ralph

  8. Thank's b-bear subs it is, work on the offhand. Firey, I will get by with a dolphin torch until a torch with rechargeables arrives Cheers. Thanks
  9. Yarum and fenring cheers for the replies, For the bunnies I was talked into exclusively using the power points, I will start off with the subs and if needs be switch to power points. For the foxes I will stick with the power points. I have put plenty of lead through the pipe, and can routinely hit golf balls and chicken eggs at 75yards with an improvised rest, static targets. I will set myself up firing into the empty paddocks anyone entering the property will aproach from my rear the prevailing wind should allow this I have sussed that out already will see what happens on the night. Head torch good call, I have a good petzl with high med low and strobe settings probably the same chip that these micro torches seem to have in common just have to make sure I take it on the night. I am leaning towards the Eagle tac as fenring has suggested the step up in quality. Yarum, if I could order the Moph Custom Super Light Chucka as a job lot I would but buying all the bits and stuffing up the order just might do my head in, seriously. Moph if you read this, I reckon if you could be bothered putting these things together you would sell em easy enough, from what i have heard. I am not real good on the computer 1 finger typist, Fenring how would I pay for the Eagle tac without a credit card, international money order money transfer or what ? I will try to ring them and line something up. Ican get my hands on the P7 easy enough, to get me through the first shoot might do that and put the eagle tac on order. When I go crabbing its not uncommon to find a buck "on the job", dive down grab the pair of em, he won,t let go of the jenny , double bunger bonus, I am guessing the bunnies won't be so obliging maybe i will get a through and through ! Thank you gentlemen.
  10. G, Day all, I am expecting to go spotlighting immediately after the Easter break, for the first time. When it comes to terrestialy based spotlighting I am not ashamed to say, that i am, gulp, still a virgin. I thought to myself "this scope mounted torch business can't be too hard, I'll just get one of those LED LENSER P7 jobs, IS GERMAN IS GOOD YA Right ? WRONG ! A bit of reading on the torches threads soon informed me that whilst the P7 IS GERMAN IS GOOD,there are other brands that are NOT GERMAN BUT BETTER and for substantially less $$$$$. From what I gather the Eagletac T100c 2MK II will fit the bill. What I would like some info on thanks, is the tactics employed using such a set up. I will be sniping bunnies that munch on the grass at the rear of the farm house using a .22. I have been informed that he bunnies will scatter under the outbuildings and machinery lying about the place at the sound of each shot. I would like to learn from your experience, the Do's and the Don'ts. I have done a little spotlighting in the Swan River whilst snorkelling, hunting crabs. Swimming along the surface, ten feet of water wide beam torch scanning from left to right wide beam is good to locate crabs then dazzle the buggers dive down and grab em So I guess I am gunna need some spill to locate bunnies and some spot to dazzle em. Once I take the first shot and they all scatter I suppose I turn off the light and wait in the dark or what, If the torches field of view is variable how should I adjust it etc etc etc What range / distance should I set up for myself? I am not expecting all the answers just want to hit the ground running pick it up as i go, Before I shoot the resident bunnies I am going to try to whistle in a fox over the ploughed fields, if i point the spotty in the direction I expect him to come from so I can see him coming will he come in or do I whistle and turn on the light every now and then to see whats coming Any help appreciated.

  14. athomo-- I'm not paranoid, it's just that the whole world is out to get me Yes athomo I am an electrician?
  15. athomo---- Central murrimbidgee, what gives?
  16. Sounds good to me, Its all in the, "gettin to the shady tree" UNSEEN aint it ! I se pic's in the mags, of duck hunters in their hides, wearing canmmo, sittin on comfortable seats with their thermos's of coffee. "They have got the idea"
  17. Settle deer hunters, I know it's a whole different story when you go lookin' for em with intent Growin up with RNP as me playground, I have reasonable ability to spot game. I reckon game are like us They don't look for humans ,they don,t look for anything in particular, They see movement and they see something "out of place" Just like us, if we look for a specific target you won't see it but if you scan with your eyes BINGO your eyes stop scanning, subconsciously your primal brain is onto something! now you take controll and actually work out what the anomoly is that your subconscious locked onto Tawny frogmouth in the shadows------------------resume scan and so it continues Keep low and move slow thats the go, direct eye contact -- negative Cammo's gotta help by breaking up the silhoette and not being seen in the first place cause once the animals suspicion is aroused, those extra senitivities of a wild animal, his danger radar is on high alert and he says to himself " I'm outta here " I have just got club support for me .22 and I wanna get out there with a vengence. I have been thinking about giving myself every chance thinkin about cammo brought me here I was thinkin about makin meself a "halo" which hovers acouple of inches over me head supported on a shoulder brace. Throw some scrim netting over me "halo" which goes down to me chest and back, an over sized veil if you will. Now I can move me head about under the veil without the veil moving. Just as we see movement and then discern WHAT moved so does our prey If my prey CAN'T see me head move I've got the wood on him, every little bit helps and when your in his domain you need all the help you can get, how much you wanna help yourself is up to you. Plenty more where that came from Note to self: Cammo skirt, frame around hips, drape camo "skirt" over, when walking leg movement unseen could work?
  18. I reckon you deer hunters don't know what you're on about! Years ago, I was on Lady Carrington Drive in the Royal National Park,at the southern end where it is really jungle like. Living at Bundeena at the time, a 20 km afternoon ride was my regular routine. So I left the bike on the side of the track, and went 30 metres into the bush to relieve meself. BBBBAAARRRKKK I near #### meself standing up WHAT THE _UCK BOOM CRASH Something was screaming its head off at me, then turns and blunders off. Turns out I had blundered into a Deer, He #### himself and so did I. No camo, no stalking, them deer is easy to find.
