  5. I'll let you know. I'm going to give it a go in a couple of weeks. Plus I'm a dumb arse and I'll have to learn to drive it. I just got a dirty look from she who must be obeyed cos I registered it online in my name. It was her Idea to get it in the first place.
  6. Hi Folks just purchased the HEMA HN5I GPS. I have read some good stuff about it but was wondering if any of you guy's or girls have one & what do you reckon. One of the main reason I got it is you can unplug it from you car and use it as a handheld out in the bush.comes with Top maps, street maps & 4 WD maps. http://www.hemanavigator.com.au/LinkClick.aspx?fileticket=bDNqyJ9iF8w%3d&tabid=150
  7. I'm using Uniden UH076SX 5W. Hand probably 12 months now and have had no problems wiht. Good in the bush compared to some of the cheaper ones out there. Shop around and you'll find something you like
  8. Off for CT scan on the back tomorrow for a crook back. Jjust when I get the fourby out of the shop. Bugger, bugger, damn damn, rude word, rude word.

  11. I didn't think Garmin here in Australia sold direct to the public. I could only find stores that they supply. Or am I looking in the wrong spot.
  12. I noticed that there is a new model out now. It's a GPSMap62s. It looks pretty flash. I'm not going for the Oregon now so I'll have to keep looking.
  13. Thanks mate. I was looking at the Oregon 450t from Cabela's for $350.00 OZ. Just over $400.00 to the door. http://www.cabelas.com/product/Camping/Handheld-GPS-Accessories/Handheld-GPS%7C/pc/104795280/c/104731380/sc/104373180/Garmin174-Oregon-450T-GPS/709847.uts?destination=/catalog/browse/camping-handheld-gps-accessories-handheld-gps/_/N-1100718/Ns-CATEGORY_SEQ_104373180 I'm just waiting on garmin to get back to me re: the warranty issues of purchasing overseas.
  14. I am soon to buy a GPS unit. Can any of you intrepid hunters suggest a reliable company that sells the software for the Garmin GPS? Also while on the subject of software. Is it possible to make your own maps for loading into your GPS???
