Camoflage

Recommended Posts

I suppose you blokes hunt from the ground where camouflaging and breaking up lines make sense. Plus it's fun (the 'why not' component which some of you mentioned). Fixing up our gear is part of the hunting fever.

In Kentucky we typically hunt from tree stands. Deer do not usually look up (unless one moves clumsily and makes noise) so the gun color does not matter too much. Some older bucks have an amazing instinct and will see you up in a tree no matter what (there's a reason why they're OLD bucks).

I wear camouflage clothing and stay away from blue and white but I have never camo'd my gun. Would be fun though. I saw some fantastic camo jobs on guns on this forum.

Cheers

Times have changed though mate, now everyone sneaks about with a thermal in the early morning..no camo needed, except for the photo.

No, but early AM, I still need to be still and quiet. Thermal or not.

As for AusCam, I heard some of these uniforms were to be made in china, so watch out for the quality of the chemical additives (probably made to light up under certain frequencies....just sayin')
