if you can find a roll of firehose, some buckles and studs ... its quite handy to make some thick neck collars.

I have made two full breast plates out of fire hose ( post pictures when i can find batteries for camera ) seams to be easy to work with . Also tried conveyor belting , wrapped in canvas , a bit fiddly , was told about 7 layers of shade cloth

but have not tried it yet .

How does it fair in the field Martin ? Fire hose is not as light but

very tough and good to work with on the sewing machine with nylon thread .

Great work on those neck collars Geta , I used velcro for my first but like to

go the leather strap and buckles for better security through the thick stuff .

Cheers Daz good post , thought i was going a bit wierd ;)

Just a regular sewing machine with a heavy duty needle ,

nylon thread from any sew or craft shop .

Couldnt get a hold of a industrial machine which would have

been ideal , just double stitched instead .

Fire hose was sourced from engineers at work , a replaced hose

sitting out the back of their workshop . Metres of the stuff .

:)
