grundomat
hi guys, and girls, I have booked a property in western NSW, 140 km out of cobar, in august for our first ever foray into pig hunting, no dogs. I understand that pigs don't have the greatest vision, but i figure camo can't hurt. My question is which camo to wear, do i use buffalo camo same as for deer at home in vic, or will auscam army gear be better for the dry climate? thanks in advance for any help recieved. ManU
Auscams work pretty well for me and my hunting mates but i reckon just about any form of khaki based camo will do the job in that area, especially if you do all the right things like watching the wind and stalking quietly etc etc.

Rob - CW
Checkout multicam camo as a good allrounder.
tariadamar
ASAT camo is great for all around aus it may not blend in the same colours as well. however it breaks up your outline alot better.
len
ASAT blends in with any background
gafloss
Auscam is pretty good anywhere. There are a lot of different shades of Auscam though - some have an almost brown background - get the one with the lighter background if you can. I like ASAT when the grass is browned-off. Kittyhawk
Auscam or chocolate Chip is good. Most of the hunting gear sold here is even to dark for the bush in winter, you step into a shadow you look black easy to see. http://shop.ebay.com.au/bidchart/m.html?_nkw=uniform+desert&_sacat=0&_odkw=uniform&_osacat=0&bkBtn=&_trksid=p3911.m270.l1313

Matt, for western NSW there are a number of practical patterns that could you could use; Auscams and Buffalo camo are more than adequate.

MR243
check out the camo shop website, i bought a couple of the digital camo in the lighter and darker colour, seems to blend in nice. Drier grass blends nice with the lighter camo. Edited July 27, 2010 by MR243

Perry
I use M2D camo. It is based around long grass which blend very well with the vast majority of vegetation in all the area's I hunt from 1000 k west of Brisbane to the New England ranges http://www.m2dcamo.com/
Adios
Whats ASAT stand for , A shirt and Thongs . One thing full camo is good for is getting really quick service at Mc Donalds. One time after I got caught in some floods the only clean clothing I had was my full set of nato cam. So I had no choice but to wear it home as the other clothing was putrid. I was starving so I stopped at a Mc Donalds . The manager nearly put his hip out rushing to a new till to open it and serve me . Maybe it was the black cordura bag over my shoulder or the bulge under my jacket I'm not sure. This was in the days when only Rambos wore camo clothing now it's a fashion statement. Perry looks gorgeous !!! Edited August 16, 2010 by Happy Jack
Adios
The most important part to break up is your head and shoulders and face . Most animals focus and recognise our head and shoulder shape and face shine the most . As long as you cover and break up that part and sit with a broken background most animals will not see what you are untill they smell you or you move or they hear something or they get very close . The.Diko
ASAT is all season all terrain I use Realtree for my camo, I don't think the All Purpose camo would look too bad.
