Duncs
For a while now I've been looking for GPS or range-finder sized bags that you can attach to the shoulder straps of a day pack. I hate attaching things to the waist belt as they get in the way or fall off when you take the pack off. Twice now I thought I'd found something but they either couldn't buy them separately (Moroka30) or they were fluoro lime green (Anaconda). The Moroka30 ones on their Alpine Stalker pack looked perfect but they wouldn't sell them separately even though they are detachable. So I'm resorting to the wisdom of the list! Has anyone seen something like this or come up with a solution? Samhuntvic - maybe this could be added to your product collection...? Or am I the only one who thinks this'd be handy? jindydiver
I have a small lined gps pouch from Placatac on my bino harness strap. It means that even if I take my pack off for whatever reason I still have my gps with me. It is super handy hanging there against my ribs too. Duncs
Hadn't thought of using the bino harness - that's a good idea. Still, I'd like to get these bags for general hiking too so I'll keep looking.
gafloss
I bought a couple of pouches online last year & none of them were really what I was after Here are a couple of links: http://www.cabelas.c...80;cat104361480 http://www.stoneycre...uct/38/gear-bag http://www.wellingto...teyr Pouch Used http://www.wellingto...- Model MB-6078 http://www.ebay.com....#ht_2190wt_1397 The last one looks OK if you can find one cheaper. optic
Check out aussie disposals Duncs. Have a look at the compass pouches. They clip on to webbing straps just like you want to do. Would also clip onto a back pack strap. Something like this. http://www.ebay.com....#ht_2190wt_1397
Duncs
Thanks guys - ill take a closer look at them when I get home. At first glance though I don't think they'll do the job. The issue is that the attachment point needs to be a clip (easy) but in the horizontal rather than vertical (hard). Unless I've looked at them wrong? I don't want to have to undo the harness straps to attach/remove them. I want the pouch to allow that. Normal molle gear is designed to do this but in a vertical direction - not horizontal. Hope that makes sense?
gafloss
Carabina clips are handy for attaching pouches & such. So are these little things http://www.platatac.com/search-results/itw-web-grimloc/w1/i1157545_1120139/
Duncs
I've got a few of them so I'll give it a go. Suspect they'll flap around too much for my liking though. But that's another good idea - thanks man!
