Foxstalker
Hey all, I'm looking to buy a Samick Sage 35lb recurve bow and I will probably have to order it in to my local hunting store. My question is if i hold the bow in my left hand and draw back the bowstring in my right hand is it a left handed bow or a right handed bow. sorry this might be a stupid question but I haven't been able to figure it out. Thanks, Foxstalker
Beno
That’s a right handed bow. I have a L/H 55 pound bear grizzly recurve. it’s a workout using that thing.
Foxstalker
ok so it goes off which hand you draw with? i tried a 45 pound compound bow at my local trellys and couldn't pull it back haha
Beno
I should have elaborated a bit better. eye dominance is another main factor in whether you choose left or right handed bows. You want your dominant eye to look directly down the shaft. I’ve seen left eye dominant shooters shoot right handed. It looks gammy, and not to be encouraged but it can be done. You won’t be able to do this with a bow. a left hand bow will have the arrow rest on the right side and vice versa. It will also fit in the hand well. You’ll know instantly once you hold one.
