Rob-06
Went down to sight in my rifle today after the scope had been off for some warranty work, only to have the wind constantly blow targets off the metal frames the range sell. And shooting the frame completely stuffing it. Decided to knock up a wooden one that I can staple targets to. What wood should I be using? Got a .30-06 so it'll have to take a bit of a beating without splintering everywhere. Edited September 30, 2007 by XBC351

I just clip them to the target frame - simple and no problems with wind.

Maxx
We just use a piece of MDF board and pin a target to it. the projectiles go through it very cleanly and as we vary the target, we get heaps of shots [500+] through the MDF before its stuffed. Rossi
We use 12mm chippy with 4 screws through from the back to push the corners of your target onto if it is really windy we mormal have a few milk bottle tops floating around, they go over the screws and hold the targets tighter to the wood. They are right it does make a fare mess on the range but ours gets burnt one a year and that takes care of it.

Aussie steve
Hi guys, as far as I am comcerned the best target frame is an old 240 Lt wheelie bin. My family owns a small garbage company and so I can get my hands on ones which have broken handles etc, you can just tape the target to the front of the bin, and shoot away. I also have a smaller 120Lt bin at home which I have filled with sand, have even shot it at 50 meters with a .270 and 130 grain woodleighs, NO exit. The bin is easy to move from one yardage to the next, and its big enough so that you can have lots of targets on the bin at once so you dont have to change targets all the time. Just my thoughts Steve
