Lucky
Lucky tell me how they handle the blackberry canes I have not had a server encounter with this noxious weed in S.E QLD or NZ. NZ does seem to have more spiky scrub and it is always my hands that feel like a pin cushion, legs seem to always be less sensitive. In all honesty I find the extra freedom of movement, silence, comfort and temperature control out way the cons. I find comfort physicaly and mentaly helps, so just that little bit more care on what plant you are passing is needed. I am just starting to learn how to be observant of plant life when stalking. Watch for signs and look where one is going.

Juniorhunter
Scent lock schment lok, hunt with the wind in ur face and u can hunt in blaze orange blue swandri watva, i hav lost count of the photos i have seen with blokes wearing a blue or red swandri standing over a 25+" sambar stag. I will continue to hunt in my british camo pants, and my mossy oak jacket, neither of these is warm or hides my scent and i will buy more camo clothing when i can afford it but if you want to wear scent lok or watever go for it... i wear wat i wear because they are my hunting clothes, i love my camo to be honest ( my duck hunting mates call me the walking hide) but i rekn all the wash stuff is a waste of money. i have probably contradicted myself but seriously, being alert to the wind and the animals is the way to go. The best camo i have seen atm is the 3D leafy suits, they are great intend on getting one from aussies for $160 instead of the $300+ the other brands charge Anyway its late and im ranting and raving.... Feel free to pick out my mistakes Mick

Phil
I'm with JuniorHunter, I wear what I wear and that's that. But people can do or wear whatever they want...depends what you've got to show for it!
Thomo
i have worn things from ghillie suits to yakka work wear, have found the ghillies the best i can just about hide on my front lawn in it. but they are hard to get hold of out in civvy world. I do have a heap of cam netting in 8ftx8ft lenghts that if you wear cams under it and drap this like a poncho is nearly as good for deer and dogs, just get a face mask and gloves and your away

bronski88
Hey all just wondering what brand and style of cammo would you guys recomment as im after a warm jacket for winter as i intend going after Rusa deer in the next month or two. Thanks be careful, the stuff i have got is warm when you are standing still, but as soon as i start going up hill the heat is on. I wouldnt mind a bit lighter gear, as you can always put more on underneath.

Rono
I use thermals underneath my cammos which consist of light pair of pants and a shirt and i still get hot while climbing hills.
Deerchaser
Below is Huntech's new technology habitat cammo system.Definately worth a look.lol http://www.huntech.co.nz/Huntech.mpg
butch
One piece suit Mossy oak forest floor. Great stuff nice n quit and warm i only were a t-shirt under it and in 90% of my hunting conditions i am plenty warm. If i get to hot the legs unzip to about ten inches from the hip so you can cool down real easy. A lot of the guys that i have seen up this way are in Aust cams but i have hunted with guys who use these and i find them very easy to see along the opposite ridges and out to around 100m. 1S1k ((0)) Cheers
Buddy
Im currently using stoney creek gear, but i believe that the auscam is excellent for our bush here. Its cheap to buy compared to stoney creek, huntech etc.. and is also pretty hard wearing. If your on a budget and dont wanna spend a bundle go the auscam. Balty
From what i have read -- the majority of the animals only see greyscales and Blue and Yellow the important thing is the breakup of your profile -- so saying that, any of the patchy camo gear around will work well - apparently with foxes and the like the reason for gloves and face mask is your hands and face showup as white beacons to them i wear auscams cos they are rough, tough and easily available and i feel pretty pro wearing them -- have had mates come shooting and while we were all camm'd up they simply stalked in wearing jeans and a flanno their goats were just as dead as ours were
grumbles
I wear NZ camo t-shirt , khaki pants that I attacked with the wife's material paints , and a floppy camo hat with ripped up camo material sewn on to it . Just recently , i started wearing camo netting wrapped around my face and a pair of riggers gloves tiger striped with blak permanent marker . It's funny though , I have had both goats and pigs walk straight past me at 5 m or so until they realise I am there . In saying that , wind direction is the key to the stalk but even then I like to be all chameleon in case of the odd skiddish or suspicious beast . Have also hunted goats with a mate who just wears flanno shirt and yeah he still gets his goat too .( and mine )
fenring
Hunting pigs I wear whatever fatigues I have - I have a couple of black pairs as they look less gung ho when you run into the cocky, but still have all the pockets for your gear. A few of us have blaze orange camo vests - vital when a few blokes are hunting together in thick scrub, for safety's sake! Things can get a bit hairy when there are a few shooters, a heap of dogs and a mob get up out of one thicket. The blaze orange vests are also vital when bike hunting in concert with a ute and dogs - you can be seen a mile off and it makes recovering you easier if you get lost . hurt in the middle of a 25km square paddock. They can be had off ebay for $25. In fact I get a Remington vest and blaze orange camo Winchester polarfleece hooded top for about $30 each shipped from the US. Hunting bunnies I just wear old jeans or my black fatigues.
