Jesus mate, I wouldn't even want to transmit on their frequency, if they found you they'd rip your nuts off. They hate it enough that we can listen
-
If you are only looking for a uhf to talk to mates while out 4wd'ing or hunting then just go with a cheaper 40 channel. I guarantee thousands in regional areas won't ever change em till their old ones are shagged
-
I better add that our Uniden rep stated that Uniden UHF can not be upgraded unless they are the user upgradable versions they are selling now. Supposedly this is cause they are not just an Australian company.... the rep is a bit of a tool though so not sure how accurate his info is
-
the only real effect it may have samhunt is if you need to communicate with someone that is using a channel you can't get
If all 4wdrs and hunters continue using the lower range of channels then we could all get away with not upgrading
-
If you can find an 80 channel available then get it, I think most of the ones being sold now are only functional for 40 channels till the licence comes out then you go to the website to get unlocking details.
Our GME rep said most old ones will be able to be upgraded anyway and prices are dropping bigtime especially on the Uniden gear, so buying a 40 channel for a heavy discount then upgrading it for $60 later on is a pretty economical option

Guess it's not for everyone but the beauty of it is he has simply informed us... we have our own free will to decide if we want it ourselves or not

I installed the My Tracks app and find it pretty good, havent tried one that tracks me for a third party though.... dont want the wife knowing too much lol
+1 to the poor battery life, I also use advanced task killer and every now and then hit that so it kills off apps running in the background. I have the HTC Wildfire, reception is ok but I know in some spots Tomshaws iphone 3gs out performed me in a few spots a while back.

We got some cheap Swann ones in at work that look similar to the Bushnell ones. Havent had a proper play with em yet to see what they are like they cost 229

The AKC got sick of people only joining their club to get the permit for buying swords is what it says on their website. Which is fair enough
-
A membership to the AKC no longer covers sword ownership in Victoria Travis unfortunately. The Sword Collectors Guild membership does though. Provided you apply for the prohibited weapons permit to the Police Comissioner

I sell a few of the Garmin at work they seem quite good and very reliable, rarely have them returned

a local guy has been buying ferric chloride from my work to do some inlay work on metal. I checked out his website and saw a few knives with similar blades to that one.... unreal work mate
how long does it take to finish off?
-
Interesting... none of our suppliers have mentioned anything at work.... probably don't wanna get stuck with old models
-
Mate that thing looks like a beast how long is it?
about 9" the back of the blade is about 1cm thick so it has some decent weight to it

Cold Steel Trail Master
Have had this knife (picture taken from website not my actual knife) for many years now, it is scalpel blade sharp with a nice heavy blade and it can hack through flesh and bone like butter.
I have a heap of other knives and machete etc but this one is my favourite, followed closely by Muela Hunting knife & Carbon Steel Kukri

I was checking there stuff out recently too. will be interested to hear what people think.
were you going to buy it online or through a local store?

Sorry Jase, I misunderstood what you meant. You can listen in still to the new police band but you need to know the exact frequency and have a device capable of getting that band. Uniden have a few that do it.... or there is an iphone/android ap that allows you to stream it
