    That's amazing footage!

Thanks mate, it was certainly a surreal situation. I spent with her probably up to a half an hour, recording some more videos. She stood her ground the whole time.
Did not see or hear any dogs, as I figured they must have been around, or if they were not, then she must've have really bad night with them. It was 1100 hrs when I bumped in to her.
Only when I went to my car and drove past her she moved in to the bush.

Start by ordering one today perhaps...the price will only go up the longer it takes.

Already have couple on order from elsewhere mate. One from overseas (just to tell you how keen I am haha). One was/is on a 2 years waiting list.

  3. I got this sharpener this morning for $59 (Sydney tools will price match from "generaltools" website - sorry Duncs :) )

So far sharpened 5 knives, two of which were longish flexible kitchen knives and 3 of my knives. Impressed with it. Takes no effort at all and it takes very little time.

I noticed they are also selling different attachments for it.

  4. I can feel just by reading your post how stressful this was for you and how anxious you were to present your best work. And to score such high scores at your first attempt!!!!! You can be proud of your achievement and skill.

Congratulations and well done. I hope to buy a great knife from you one day!

This year I feel like I have progressed to the point where I can actually offer a decent knife, and have sold a couple of knives when people have asked me to make them a specific pattern they have wanted made. Next year I will probably book a table at one or two of the state knife shows and actually exhibit knives for sale.

Mate as someone who salf-taught myself from zero to become quite decent at website building and graphic design I applaud your effort and skill as I can appreciate how much research, trials, persistence, work and effort you put in, in order to get to this level.

As a keen collector of knives I would not hesitate to buy a knife from you based on the craftsmanship and quality of the one from the above photos.

    Well done!

  6. chasing rabbits on a property, with it on full power it will last approximately 35 minutes

but even if it lasts longer, it makes no sense to design it like that, imagine how many people bought spare rechargeable batteries for the old models, and then go on and purchase new model of javelot thinking they can use all those spare batteries they have,  not realising these muppets from olight changed design without actually clearly stating that in their description.
Its actually deception of sort, because in description it says it uses same batteries as old models, but what it does not clearly say is that those batteries are completely sealed and can not be removed from spotlight body on new models.
And then when you decide to swallow that hard pill and decide to buy another sealed replacement pack, it does not tell you on their website that the bloody thing needs to be fully assembled for it to recharge.

What's the point of buying replacement pack then? Things like this just do my head in as you can tell :)

  7. Javelot are good, but old versions where we could carry spare batteries and just replace batteries as needed whilst in the field.

In new models you can not replace the batteries. It is a sealed unit. You can purchase another battery pack instead of spare batteries, which is just a sealed javelot body without head.

What's even more stupid about this setup is that even if you purchase a replacement (spare) battery pack, it can not be charged unless the head of torch is screwed on to it, rendering it useless.

    Just ridiculous ....

I returned my new model and got my money back. Whoever come up with this stupid design should have his/hers head examined.

  8. I use MemoryMap app on my phone with all maps purchased from Hema, including Topo maps.

I like it as I can use it when driving and whilst walking. It works good and transitions smoothly between different layers.

  9. yep, lets all get in NASA designed space suits for hunting, particularly if hunting in winter ...  ?

I reckon most people overthink this. Just wear whatever you have and whatever keeps you warm or cool, depending on the outside elements.
