Totally agree.

Fellas, I know a lot of you have bought boots from Cabelas etc....I am going to buy the Danner pronghorns and just wondered about the sizing issue. If I wear a size 9 in a standard work boot, what size should I order from Cabelas...??
If you're wearing an Aussie size 9 then you will need to get a US 10.

Worm im pretty sure I have that exact safe, its great value for money. Definetly does the job.

Use a bino harness they are great and will hold your binos close to your body and wont swing around and get knocked about and with the rain guard that stays in the back pack when I am hunting
+3 on the harness

Garmin 60csx mate, you cant go wrong. has a heap of features and its only an extra $30 from the 60cx (older model).
And you can download shonky maps for free, it does me fine.
I got mine from these guys, very good to deal with and the best prices i could find anywhere.

Not sure if leaving the lense caps on would help me, because they are fine as I bring them up to my eyes but within 10 seconds they fog up untill I cant see.
What is a good brand or make of anti fog gel or cream?
mate as dumb as it sounds just try no to breathe as hard. do you breathe out of your nose or mouth, if your puffed out then you will prob be breathing out of your mouth which is probably causing the fogging. i have the same binos and i dont have a problem.

This is something i want to do (paint my rifle)

Robmaz,
Check out this site - it's where i've bought most of my stuff over the years (all over the net/phone). 60csx is a little more here, but come with a 1gb card.
700.
Thanks 700sps but i dont think you did it right cause i cant click on anything.

it seems the only difference between the 60cx and the 60csx is the csx has the electornic compass and barometric altimeter. So my question is, is it worth paying the extra $40 or so just for those two extras??
P.s. sorry to hijack the thread Rono but i thought it might interest you as well.

Has anybody had any dealings with this GPS i am looking to update my etrex with something i can use in the car as well
i am actually looking at purchasing the same one Rono from what i have read its meant to be pretty good but havent really heard any first hand reviews. this is the best price i have found so far.

Mine were spot on, I got the 10 regulars and they fit me fine and Im a us 10 in joggers. If your foot is wide I would get the wide ones.
thanks for the tip mate.

I got the rockys that Gryph suggested and they are great, super water resistant and extremely strong and comfortable.
Cant see you getting much better value for the price.
yeah they do look pretty good Mick, especially for the price. i just have to work out my size now.
-
go to Bass Pro and Sierra Trading and look in the clearance bins...Bass had some rocky`s for $70 yesterday, page below, couple others on this page too.

Thanks Gryph will check them out now. How did you go for sizing with the Rockys, is there sizing pretty similar to all your other footware.
-
Pop Into little bourke street in the city and have a look at the hiking shops there. they are pricy but as you are only get a sizing it shouldnt be a problem.
I would be carefull buying from overseas at the moment with the dollar as it is you may pay more than what you can get locally as stores may still have stock at the lower price before inflation.
I would look at sorel and mendel boots for hunting.
thanks for the info bigjedd i was actually looking at some Rockys (see link) and i thought if it comes to around $200 aus then im happy with that.
-
Definately go into a store that sells good hiking boots and get them to fit you. Then use the european sizing on the boots to order your boots from Cabelas and you wont have any problems.
I checked this out when I was in the states a couple of years ago
Thanks for that Len, so what store sells good hiking boots.lol

i want to get a pair of boots from cabelas but am a bit worried about sizing. should i go try some boots on here and see what size i am and work around that even though the brands will be different or should i just go with my general us size in runners.
-
You can find some really good bargains on sierra i brought a few things off there when our dollar was actually competitive with the US.
