Now to track down a map of the Mount Disappointment Area, any ideas?
Thanks again for the advice.
I have a Rooftops map for that area, its fine. I bought mine from a outdoors type shop at Highpoint shopping center. They have maps for all of victoria and most of australia.

Its a compass.... it either works or it doesnt yeah? I paid $10 for mine... seems to point to north lol
Just buy one that works, DONT spend like $30 on one, its a waste IMO

Why would you purchase winter and warm weather camo? All im going to do is buy light weight camo. If it gets cold just wear it over a warm jumper. Save some coin that way.
Before I go out stalking dear with a rifle and full camo for the first time, I will be heading out on my own (maybe +1) and walk around some spots. See if I can find some deer or signs of deer.
This is a stupid question, but do you guys use a compass? How do you not get lost in unfamiliar forest?

My dad has been hunting (although not recently) deer for many yrs and has not once ever used any piece of camo gear. I am now interested in stalking a deer for myself and really like the look of all the gear you can purchase. Is it needed these days (for some reason) or is it more of a fashion statement (if ya know what I mean).
Also, even if its NOT needed I still want to get some camo pants. But..... which pattern/style would be best for hunting in VIC forests? Normal aus army pattern or something more specialised?
any help appreciated

P.S Realtree camo gear looks amazing

Bought a Hooded jacket from Cabela's (America) just over a week ago. Mossy Oak 3D light weight hooded jacket. Didnt take long to delivery at all and am very happy with it.
Postage is 20% of total order or $20 (which ever is more), so it can work out pretty expensive.
I got this jacket for $107 (after postage and our recently sh*tty aus dollar)
Ended up buying some scrim to cover gun/face/bino etc...
Obviously im wearing my work pants and not my aus cam
I think I need to get one for my dog, she stands out to much
I would recommend Cabela gear.... even if its just for the bling
