  1. Have a look at the Garmin Foretrex. Similar to an etrex but in a very small wrist-mounted unit, very handy when you need both hands for binos or taking a shot.
  2. The Harris ones cost even more. Or you can spend $15 down at Bunnings and 15 minutes to knock it up, AND not have to remove your sling, attach the bipod to your rifle and try to shoot prone through long grass .
  3. I made up a set of shooting sticks as on this page. I prefer the idea of something that doesn't have to attach to the rifle and displace the sling. Plus they're cheap! They work great, nice and accurate, though admittedly I haven't triem them on game yet.
  4. PeteQLD over at AHN swears by them (and he runs a "deer safari" business) http://www.australianhunting.net/phpBB2/vi...pic.php?p=44202 http://www.australianhunting.net/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=3709 http://www.australianhunting.net/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=3495 http://www.australianhunting.net/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=3277
  5. I bought some of the cheap K-mart boots, $30 or $40. They keep the water out alright, too well, i.e. they also keep the sweat in and your socks are wet by the end of the day even if you've just been sitting on ya bum. But yeah they seem fairly solid so far, worn them every day for a few months and there's no real sign of anything wearing or coming loose. Did a 15 k walk all on pavement (faster than waiting for a bloody bus) and feet weren't too sore at the end so they're not to hard on the feet either.
