  1. Watch out for the amount of guns that a safe claims to hold. From what I've seen they are usually optimistic at best. My safe is "supposed" to hold 10-12 rifles but I don't think that I'd be able to get any more than 7 scoped rifles in their without them being crammed up against each other which I prefer not to do. I've attached a pic so you can get an idea on the size. You don't want to get something that claims to hold exactly what you are after and then find it's too tight a squeeze for your liking. Matt
  2. I bought my safe from Fox Safes about a year ago. Price was just under $800 from memory and I could comfortably fit 7 rifles with scopes in it and have none of them touching (could fit more if you squeezed them in). It also has two external lockers for ammo and stuff, one of which is rated for handguns so I’m set if (more like when) I go down that path in the future. It weighs about 140kg (empty) and I’ve got it bolted to concrete with five 16mm dyna bolts so it’s not going anywhere in a hurry. About the only thing that I’d do differently is get one with a digital lock instead of keys. Not much good having a safe if the thieves can find your keys when they break in! Have to remember to carry the keys with me when I go out to protect against this. I’ll post a pic of the setup when I get home from work. Matt
