Cant wait till we can use that technology here and the system is cheap. You wouldnt be letting many people on it if its showing gps cordinates -
I can speak first hand on this as I took 2 pigs and 2 fallow on the weekend and have a good comparison. In a nut shell I hunted a gully on the first night and as I walked in saw a good boar walking through the fern, as I was there to hunt deer I didn't bother and stalked 50m from him in some bushes. 1 hour later I found my position had turned to crap as the wind had changed direction and was sending my scent up the gully to where the pig was, and where I was expecting the deer to come from. So on the last minute of light to my surprise this large boar still walked down towards me even though he probably aw me walk in and my scent was driving up the gully. Due to the fact of zero light and zero chance of a deer that day I took him and he ended up being a nice 80kg boar. The next day I had the wind in my favor and ended up seeing 4 deer in the same system, these deer wouldn't have come near that gully the day before due to my scent, but the pig was less than aware. I'm with the same opinion that pigs are at the top of the easy game list only to be beaten by goats. In saying that I find it very satisfying getting a nice mountain boar / boar and take nothing away from the guys chasing them, but just don't see the challenge in them, compared to deer.

I have found the face veil and gloves to be the most intrigual part of my camo. I have just started washing mine in the aware washing powder that can be bought from any supermarket. http://www.ecoshop.com.au/asp/product.asp?...y&PT_ID=all

Altona why did you get the UV Killer when the wash doesnt have any brighteners?

Sand dunes mate all the way till the season gets into it, I will be in tip top shape and looking forward to geting into those hills again. You are spot on, fitness is imperative to chase Sambar properly or any deer for that matter in Steep country.

Your arse is grass next time climbing spot x I will over take you carrying my 30 inch head out. I was recoving from a big injury and couldnt train so like Rono said we will see. You loaded me up to give you a chance last time. I found some rocks in my bac pack as well. We have a few hunts coming up so we will have to see how the old mountain goat is going.

Mine were spot on, I got the 10 regulars and they fit me fine and Im a us 10 in joggers. If your foot is wide I would get the wide ones.
-
I got the rockys that Gryph suggested and they are great, super water resistant and extremely strong and comfortable. Cant see you getting much better value for the price.

I awlays use one and I use the CamelBak Striker, also quiet with a water bladder.

Im wondering what is available to go over a timber stock for protection/camo, I saw Sambur's one but cant seem to find anything online. Would also like to know peoples experiences with them, ie if they are worth the trouble. Im more worried about the timber protection more than anything.

Both depending on what the season brings, in Snow Im a tent all the way. Quick weekend trips I just normally take the swag.

Im looking at the Steiner Predator Binos in 8x30 and have found that the Safari Model looks exactly the same on the older models. Is there any difference between the 2 and if there is what is the differences. Any info would be great. -
