Worm
The link below has all the information you will need in helping you choose a pair of binoculars to suit your needs. I think its worth its own topic so that people searching for binocular threads will stumble across this one and find it as useful as I did. huntergatherer
Hi Worm. I agree, I reckon that link gives you about as good an explanation as can be found. I would recommend anyone looking at buying Bino`s to save it for reference. I`m no expert but have been asking advise and looking long and hard at bino`s and that link pretty much covers all. Just for those who are currently looking I was pretty keen on 8 X 42`s for their light gathering capability and their reasonably compact size. However being on the wrong side of 50 and taking note of write ups as above, in particular regarding age and the exit pupil size. Not to forget the excellent rapps posted for the Steiner Predators Pro`s in 8 x 30`s. I recently ordered a set from the U.S at $199.00 USD + delivery. Can`t wait to try them out.

I`ve got to say that I reckon i`ll be very happy with them, I was able too see quite well until it was quite dark. Can`t wait to hit the bush to try them out in the field.
