FOGGED
I have had a Macpac Kauri for 15 years of abuse, and its still good. It's about 25l (I think) and is great for a day/ warm night. I've also just purchased a Macpac Traverse 65l for longer, colder trips. They're both solid packs, without heaps of crap hanging off the outside to get snagged up. The only issues I have is they are noisey (vegetation scraping) and dont come in cam, but otherwise solid and dependable. The other thing with tramping packs is to make sure you get the correct size frame for your back. This helps distribute weight and makes carrying crap around on your back a bit less of a chore.
