...dan Posted November 19, 2007 Report Share Posted November 19, 2007 Leaving the minimum legal requirements to one side for a moment though, cheap gunbags offer pretty minimal protection. A good soft case with good thick padding to protect the firearm and sights from knocks and a strong construction which will stand up to use without falling apart is a bit better, but really a well-made rigid case is best. I've never regretted the money spent on a strong aluminium case myself. It will stand up to being dropped, stood on, tripped over, loads shifting on it and even airline baggage handlers with no damage to the contents.
