Hello Andrew Most shooters back here really rate the Lightforce 170 as being the best.Myself i use a Deben Pro max(400m beam) and that comes with a dimmer switch which is really handy ,12v battery gives around 4hrs virtual continuous lamp time and if using the dimmer switch regularly alot longer.I also have 2 deben tracer cordless lamps for the scope only and the rechargable batteries (inside them)give 40 mins continuous lamp time each although these are only used when they are needed as the red filter can really tail a beam down and sometimes you just need that bit extra light . i use amber filters on this pair. When lamping solo the pro max goes on the scope but the power cord linking it to the battery does my head in somtimes All my lamping is done on foot and the Quarry is mainly Rabbits and Foxes with nearly all shots taken using a by-pod or rest of some description so your not on your own Cheers Ive

No doubt you lads use different colour diffusers on your lamps esspecially the red. Just as effective as any night vision gear if your Quiet and your field craft is up to scratch. Mind you i suppose its what the circumstances are as i get the impression that most of the shooting is done from your vehicles What sort of power and range and average battery life are the lamps you use especially when lamping on foot?
