I've got the bog standard Garmin 60 and it works pretty well. Can occasionally lose signal under heavy foliage but I carry it in a pouch clipped to the shoulder strap on my backpack and this helps maintain contact. Easy to mark waypoints and follow a track. Pretty good on batteries as well. In the vehicle I use the suction mount windscreen holder and it works like a charm, even on some pretty rugged tracks.

Yeah I've ordered a couple of these, just waiting for them to arrive.

LED Torches Try this site assailant. Bought a torch and some batteries off them last week. Ordered on a Saturday and arrived in the mail Thursday.

G'Day Trapper, Set up looks good, but yeah I'll be interested to see how you go with the bugs up that way. I did many a trip at night on the Ord River using a spotlight whilst wearing clear safety googles. Learnt to keep my mouth closed to. What are you planning to spotlight up there? John
