  1. Hi Brent I have a MAGELLAN EXPLORIST 500 COLOUR GPS and its great. Not sure about this one or what price maps are. The Magellan has a good set of topo maps available Nick
  2. Got a pair of Bushnell H20 10X42 15-1042. weatherproof, waterproof for $150 buck at Anaconda in Bayswater. They have a 25% off sale on atm on all Bushnell stuff. They are very bright and very clear so IMHO they are great buy.... They were $225 at LGS Bushnell Website We build optics with foresight. Thoughts such as, spend enough time on the water, and your equipment will spend some time in it. The H20™ series binoculars are O-ring sealed and nitrogen purged to completely lock out moisture should you spill, take one overboard, or simply run into foul weather along the way. Rubber armoring with textured pads gives you a grip in slippery situations. Multi-coated optics and premiumquality BaK-4 prism glass maximize light transmission and image clarity. You’ll quickly see how a little planning on our part goes a long way to magnify your adventures on and around the water. (Bushnell web add) OT
  3. get ready boy

you will have to put the gun down and pick up the knife

hopefully the joint ill take you to still holds some good numbers of pigs.

ill let you blast away at the foxes and rabits and some goats

  4. My Magellan Triton 500 is only a few weeks old, got the discoverAus maps on it, maybe 25waypoints and a couple of tracks and routes. I was out in a SF last night and the bloody thing crashed. Fatal Error message and even removing battery's it still wont start without this fatal Error warning coming up and then it just locks up. This thing is going back for a refund. Have read on other forums now that I'm not alone What a bugger, was just getting used to it Nick
  5. Try battery world, I think I paid around $30 for 12v 10ah...
  6. You will find them at Anaconda. They seem like a great unit, they come with a price tag though. Anaconda website Nick
  7. Hey there shet111 Yeah I paid a bit for it but couldn't be stuffed with all the mucking around with getting maps on it. I paid an extra $350 for the topo maps, car charger and mount. Price was a rip off but you get that Nick p.s. you steves mate?
  8. hey yea see you friday. how you pick it was me.

  9. Even though they cost a lot more the 5w ones are the way to go. I have a few 2w ones and unless you are within a km or so they are no good at all. We use them between cars on some trips and even 500m to a km in a straight line or so is starting to get sketchy. Nick
  10. yeah I would have gone the 400 as its $100 cheaper and there is no need to have the compass/barometer but they didn't have it in a Value pack and i couldn't wait.. Nick
  11. Got the Magellan Triton 500 on the weekend and even though it aint cheap it, with the DiscoverAus Streets and Tracks Topo maps is bloody great. Went for a bit of a hike and jest left it in my pocket tracking me and it kept satellite reception the whole time. The software 'VantagePoint' is also very handy. Here is a snapshot of where I got bogged the other day. So in short 1 - Way to expensive but better than getting lost 2 - Works a treat 3 - Great software Nick
  12. Yeah I have been looking at this one as well. Can you get hold of the Aussie maps online easily or do you have to buy them? As far as what I want it to do is just setting way points of dams and other locations found to be a good spot to hunt and when on foot be able to find my way back out of the bush to my car and if it can record your movements that wouls also be great. The land topology maps look good. Cheers for the replies Nick
  13. I was having a look on ebay and found a few cheap ones, don't need anything flash just the basics. Garmin Etrex What have you guys got, are you happy with it and what did you pay Cheers Nick
