  1. I have a cheap $15 auto shop spot light, which had a 55w H3 halogen globe in it. It worked ok, but not great. I then bought an SL170 Lightforce spotty, which is great. Later on I converted the cheapy with a 35w HID kit off ebay. It is much brighter, although not as well focused as the SL170. It does have a shadow line from the electrode though. I can rotate the globe in the unit and will eventually flip it 180*, as the shadow is at the bottom of the beam. If it were at the top, it would not be a problem.
  2. haha Well the good news from that Farmgirl is that the only way is up as Annie Lenox would say. ;)
  3. Always remember the golden rule. Safety First. ;) ;)
  4. I wouldn't go doing it without first going out with someone who knows how to do it and watching them do it. Once you've seen it done and tried it yourself under their supervision a few times, then perhaps try it. It isn't something you want to get wrong. It would not end well, for either the pig or you.
  5. I really like my EDI-T P4-250. It is a flood to throe torch with 250lm of output and runs on 3 AAA batteries. IT works great and the batteries last well. The only thing I don't like about it is the slide focus, which can be knocked out of focus and the lack of side spill at full focus. I just bought an Eagletac T100C2 Mk2 just a few weeks ago and love it. It takes either two CR123A batteries or one 18650 Li-Ion rechargeable battery. It has a great spot (220lm) with sufficient side spill to be useful. It also has a low power 55lm "general" purpose mode too. After Fen's review of the Ultrfire WF-008 I ordered one from DX. After waiting several weeks for it and them saying it was out of stock, I canceled the order and got a refund. I have some of those Deal Extreme nylon strap thingy's to mount them on top of the rifle scope and am happy.
  6. Sydney. That's one of the far eastern suburbs of Perth isn't it? Welcome to the forum mate.
  7. It is my residence, yes and no it is 300km from Perth. As I said before, it was before the new rules came in last year, which was why I added the caveat. When I added the last one in Feb of last year the copper tried to give me a hard time over it, for adding another 22, when I had one already. I put it to him that he had no business doing so and he had to relent, since he had no right at the time to stop me. I was pointing out that you don't need 100 acres for a rimfire rifle, that's all. I licensed three 22's, but only have two. The second one replaced the first one, while the third was an extra.
  8. I would have to disagree there. I have bought and licensed three 22's and a 17HMR on 16 acres, no questions asked. The only caveat I would put on that is that it was done over the last 3 years and before the new rules started late last year.
  9. Just so you know mate. It is a requirement that you fill out your age and location stats on your profile. Other than that, welcome aboard.

  10. Welcome to the forum guys. Have a look in here Aushunt WA BBQ for the WA get together. There is one being organized for some time soon.
  11. It's a bit hard to compare unless you have all three next to each other at the same time and in the same conditions. I know the P4 has a stronger beam and shines further, but has next to no spill, so you can't pick up anything just off to the side of the beam. At least that is the case with the P4 at full focus. Slide the focus back and you get a great flood light from it, but little projection. It runs at full power (250lm) all the time. The Eagletac has a fixed focus, with a nice hot spot in the middle, surrounded by a good spill. It is more of a compromise torch. It is a quality unit too. It is has two modes, set by the bezel. Twist it a 1/4 turn to the right and it goes in to 55lm general mode, while twisting it back to the left puts it back to 220lm turbo mode. General mode gives 14hrs run time and turbo mode gives it 2hrs run time.
  12. Never heard of them mate. I know I am more than happy with my EDI-T P4-250 and my Eagletac T100C2 MK2. Both are great torches.
  13. Welcome aboard guys. AWS, I like the idea of the 6mm-204. I guess it is basically a 6x47 by another name though. The more intriguing one is the 25-204. That or a 6.5mm-204 would be great rounds to use.
  14. I just did a search for "18650 batteries" on ebay. I'll just pull up the seller though: 18650 batteries + charger The charger has a US plug and runs on both 100v-240v. The batteries are Ultrafire 2400mAh Li-Ion batteries. I just did another search and got a US/EU to Aus/NZ adapter for about $4 delivered.
  15. Gee!! That's a good price! I went to every business in town during the week and found the Mitre 10 store to be the cheapest at $14.30 each.
  16. Holy Hell!!! Those CR123A batteries cost $14.95 each!! So two batteries to run the Eagletac cost near enough to $30!! So I went on ebay last night and bought 2 18650 batteries and a charger from a seller on the east coast, for $23.
  17. My new Eageltac T100C2 MKII arrived in the post yesterday. I'll run it on CR123A batteries to start with, but might buy a couple of the 18650 batteries and a charger later on. I'll buy some batteries after work tonight and try it out.
  18. You've got that right mate. When ever I go to the city, I hear all sorts of wa%kers playing CD's or whatever on CH40.
  19. Yep press the Duplex button while on channels 1 to 8 and the CB will automatically transmit on the corresponding channels of 31 to 38. The repeater station picks up the the upper channel and re-transmits on the lower station. So if on channel 2, your CB transmits on CH 2 and CH 32, when set for Duplex. The repeater will pick up the CH 32 signal and re-transmit on CH 2 to extend your range. Wikipedia page on UHF CB Channel's How to use UHF repeater stations Repeater Station Locations by state
  20. If you read the thread on here called "Firearms stolen", you'll find that someone broke into a locker and stole a blokes guns while he was asleep in the house. Here: Firearms Stolen Thread
  21. That's ok mate. I don't know if they are still available, but my first safe was a 2 gun top loader made from a gas cylinder. It was very heavy and strong, yet only cost me $150 to buy. See if they are still on the market perhaps. BTW - I still have it as a spare.
  22. You asked for an opinion on whether it would be acceptable or not. I gave you my opinion, which is that I don't think it would be acceptable. It would certainly not be passed by the police over here in WA, that's for sure. Would you be likely to buy more rifles or shotguns in the future?? If so, do it right the first time.
