  1. I did that and got this:
  2. Here 't is Assailant: http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.12000
  3. I have a Buffalo River 5 gun safe. It has 5 guns in it. I put them in with the 2 at positions 2 and 4 upside down. The rest go the normal way. However, the one at P-5 is my 17HMR Stirling. The Tasco 6-24x40 scope on it has very tall turrets and the turret cap hits the back of the safe. I found though that carefully placing it in, it leans slightly to the right against the side of the safe. But it sits there just fine.
  4. Don't you mean "the air rifle" ?? LOL
  5. Holy Cow!!!! That safe is amazing!! Candii, tell your dad He's done a very nice job. It is truly an astounding job and piece of art.
  6. I've seen 5 gun safes advertised at Mitre 10, Bunnings and Homw Hardware a lot lately. They would be legal. But they didn't look too good quality wise. My Buffalo River 5 gun safe cost me $299 a couple of years ago and can still be bought for $399 at my LGS now.
  7. I well remember the good old days of AM CB's. You could jump in your car in the evening and chat to people all over and even skip talk with people on the other side of the country. When you ran through the channels, there would be chatter on every channel. The last time I turned on my AM CB several years ago, there was nothing but silence on every channel. I still remember my AM Call sign. It was WCZ-719. Of course that was a Gov't issued call sign that came on your licence. Yes you had to have a licence back then.
  8. I have a 5 LED Cap Light. It came as a freebie with a shooting vest I bought off ebay a while back. It fits onto the brim of a cap and works very nicely. It runs off of 2 CR1616 button batteries and they last for over 40hrs.
  9. I've heard plenty of truckies ranting about grey nomads. They have a point though. Most GN's have nowhere to go and all day to get there.
  10. When driving to and from the city I keep mine on ch40. I chat to truckies I know as we pass each other. Also most cockies around here keep theirs on ch40 as well. So when driving around town, if I've left it turned on, I often hear them having a yak. Mine is a Uniden with all of the bells and whistles. I have a 3 foot antenna and spring base on the roobar. I also have a 6 foot antenna for when I want more range. Although the 3 footer gives me a good 10km range.
  11. Here's your answer:
  12. I love the Lightforce lights, they are light and easy to use and throw out a nice bright, strong beam. I have an SL170 and it is brilliant.
  13. Or just go the window mount set up. Like the Lightforce Support-A-Light.
  14. I have a 2D Maglight LED and a EDI-T P4 3xAAA CREE LED. Both punch out a heap of light. The Maglight puts about 150 lumens and the P4 250 lumens.
  15. I use a Lightforce 170 with a Lightforce Support-a-light and RC225 remote handle mounted out of the vehicle door window. I can swap this set up from car to car with ease. It never falls off either. I'm very happy with it and the beam is WAY better than any other spot light, I've ever used. I will probably be upgrading it with a 35w HID kit sometime soon. Then it should be even better than it is.
  16. I haven't had any problems with insects down this way. With the SL170 on and no filter, they don't seem to be attracted to it. I have tried a red filter. It cut down the glare, but also made seeing animals harder too. I dare say, there would be 100 times more insects up your way though.
  17. I think you'll find it is edited by the forum software. As for the switch in the handle Q. My Lightforce RS225 handle came with a switch and wires built in. I just cut the wires on the spotlight and fitted some bullet terminals, to allow connection to the switch.
  18. I own 3 bipods and a mono pod and use them ALL the time. One bi pod has a swiveling base that mounts to the rifle and stays there. I can click onto it either its bi pod or the mono pod, which I use as a hiking stick for walking through the bush. The mono pod is 1m tall and I can use it from the kneeling position over long grass. One bi pod is a Harris, one is a Nikko Stirling and the last one (the combo set) is from eBay. The eBay bi pod is actually two from the same seller. I bought one and it broke the first time I used it. The seller sent me a replacement bi pod. So I turned the broken one into a mono pod. If your barrel is free floated, your POI should NOT change between bi pod on or bi pod off.
  19. Jimbo, I reckon the eBay kit is limited to 35w because of the compact size of the ballast. They probably can't run a higher wattage without having to make a larger ballast unit.
  20. AFAIK - Even the 35w HID's are supposed to run at 5,000K which is twice as bright as a 100w Halogen globe. They're meant to be only 2,500-3,000K. The 50w HID's are supposed to be at about 7,000-8,000K or there about.
  21. Yep that is the kit I'm looking at getting. Its pretty cheap too.
  22. Great to hear len. Feed back like that is good to have, as you have used it and found it to work well. Thanks.
  23. There are HID conversion kits to suit the SL170 and SL240 lights, sold on eBay. I'm sure you can get kits for the others too.
  24. trapper, I'm not sure what you mean by vertical adjustment. If you mean it as in aiming the beam up or down, then yes, the ball joint allows pivoting up and down. If you mean it as in mounting the light higher or lower, then no the RC225 ball joint does not allow that. However, the Support-A-Light can be adjusted in different ways to achieve the desired height.
  25. I have a Support-A-Light with an RC225 handle, topped with an SL170 light. I find this setup to works very well. The RC225 handle has a built in tensioning system, that allows you to adjust the level of drag on the ball joint. If you get that set up right you can turn the light quite easily, but when you take your hand off the handle the light doesn't move. I cut the cable to the spot light and fitted bullet terminals to all of the wires. This allows me to mount the SL170 on the RC225 and use the handles switch or take it off and use it hand held.
