Well I thought I better say hi! I have only ever been hunting once... On Swan Island out in Bass straight. There was really not much on Swan Island... a lighthouse, an airfield, the caretakers cottage and about 20 million bunnies. My parents booked a holiday there back when I was a teen to get away from it all... I must of looked bored 'cause the caretaker gave me a .22 and a few boxes of bullets and I set about creating havoc on the bunny population. that was 20 years ago now. Anyhow didn't shoot a gun again until the Texans took me shooting when I was there this year. The Oozi and M16 may not have much of a place in hunting, but I still want one! Anyhow I have been making knives for a few years now... started putting handles on bought blades and then did a blacksmithing course and now I forge my own blades... I don't make traditional hunting blades, I am more interested in Scandinavian style blades. Which are traditional hunting blades, just not so much know here in Aus. Here are a few of my less shameful attempts... Bushcrafter forged from leaf spring with micarta handle Slimline field knife in M2 with Carbon fiber Hand forged bearing casing blade with brass Mallee Root and buffalo horn handle. Hand forged Cable Damascus with Beefwood. Forging a blade from a bearing casing Helle Fillet Blade in cork leather and Mulga.
