ARSEHOLES!! Post up those face photos I reckon. Local faceache pages, SSAA & ADA pages as well. Someone will recognise them. Give them to the local coppers too.
-
An option, not that I'm necessarily recommending it, is to post their photos on suitable faceache group(s). Might deter them from doing it again.

Couldn't agree more

The problem with every animal conspiracy theory that I've ever heard of is that they insist on relying on absolutely crap, ambiguous, explainable footage. This is almost certainly a fox or a dog. Why leap directly to bigfoot/yowee/panther/chupacabra/lock ness monster/abominable snowman/aliens/gebus/thylacine?? Just stoooooopid. I wonder if these groups are a bunch of people who don't believe but keep putting crap like this up because they think everybody else in the group does 😂

Weeelllll, not “everybody”…

That is truly fantastic! I’ve always really liked Damascus steel but that random pattern is the best. The antler handles are a classy look too

I was a bit hesitant to click on this topic... Thought I'd have to use my (very not) vast moderator powers.... But that's another ripper!

That's the ONLY area I am allowed to post

You need to post in the “Just Say G’day” section and then the rest of the site opens up -
Very, very nice 👍 Must have been bitter sweet to make sales. Sweet that people judged your work was worth paying for amongst all of those other knife makers they had to choose from and bitter that you had to let them go

I forgot to mention. The LGS had two models from the same mob. This is the more expensive of the two
-
Don’t tell me if they’re selling them cheaper 😂
-
Wasn’t cheap. $70-ish I think. Glad I bought it though.
-
Glad I’m not alone - on both counts 😂

I missed out on the knife sharpening gene. I can take a beautiful knife and turn it into a useless piece of blunt steel in a heartbeat. It’s got to be a technique problem - I’m not blaming the tools. But I just can’t seem to get it right. I’ve tried all sorts of hand-held sharpeners, steeles, etc and nothing managed to change the outcome. Sharpening rigs like Lansky work ok but they’re not something I want to lug around in my pack all day or have to set up during a butchering session. Because of this I tend to be drawn to new types of sharpeners when I see them. I don’t buy them all!! But I usually take a look. I noticed this at my LGS today and really liked the idea that it had 20 degree guides on it to help get the angle right rather than relying on me to guess, so I shelled out for it. I just had it a crack on my fox scalping knife and bloody hell! I reckon it’s sharper than when it came out of the factory! If you missed out on that gene too, this is worth a look.

You don’t muck around, do you mate!! Good work!
-
20 / 20 for one of your first attempts!! I can’t imagine that happens very often? Well done mate - a great reward for some obviously very detailed work 👍 Looking forward to another post like this in 12 months! I’d say you’ll do pretty well
-
Another fantastic specimen! Great work

I always take a map, compass and pen when I'm out. But a GPS is a level above so I always take one of them too. Always knowing where you are is handy
-
Yeah, I get the advantage of it. But I don’t have one so it pisses me off
-
They talk to each other over UHF for the location tracking. So if you’re out on the same channel (but not on a Rhino) then you get a squalk tone every few mins. Pisses me off

F#*king Rhinos!!

I don’t have much info for you Simmo but take a look at Shonky Maps. They are free topo maps for the older Garmins so I’d be surprised if they didn’t work with the newer ones too. I’ve used them for over 10 years and they’re great!

Cheap ones! He’ll drop ‘em for sure
