  1. Have you had any problems with the drop-ins not working? Last order I got a LC-XML T6 for my L2X body and the torch wouldn't run the LED. I had a couple of flashes where there must have been something going on, but I couldn't get it to turn on. The body and switch work with my Pro 1 head without any drama's so I'm not sure what's going on with the XML.
  2. I have a P7 and I don't think it can be compared to the Sea Hunter or any of the Solarforce range. My P7 just doesn't penetrate enough with very limited range. I have bought a couple of Solarforce torches and they are very good for scope mounting. The 18650 batteries are li-ion and rechargeable. www.solarforce-sales.com
  3. Still haven't sent them an email yet. Will have to get my finger out. Sent from my HTC Desire using Tapatalk
  4. All I can say after testing these torches is unbelievable. Leaves every other torch I've owned for dead (and I've owned a few). Quick question though, the tailcap toggle switch doesn't seem to turn the torch on, it only stays on while you are pushing the button in. Is that how they are meant to work? If anyone could advise that would be appreciated. Cheers Shane
  5. All good, first part of the order turned up today. Will be testing the torch tonight, but looking at it inside, it seems to have a very tight spot with little spill.
  6. Good news. I made two separate orders - the torch package and then a separate order for a tailcap switch and some batteries. The funny thing is the batteries and tailcap turned up but I didn't receive the torch itself. I'm hoping for tomorrow now!
  7. At least you got yours. I'm still waiting for mine to turn up and I think we ordered them on the same day! As long as they get mine right I will be happy. Let us know how you get on with yours. Cheers Shane
  8. Thanks mate, didn't even think of the Solarforcesales site!
  9. I'm just doing a Dealextreme order for some spare parts. Do you know what size O rings will fit the torch, and is it a 12mm clicky switch for the Masterpiece Pro 1?
  10. Nice one. I'm interested in seeing the quality of these things, considering the reasonable price.
  11. It was the Solarforce Monster Thrower Masterpiece Pro-1 Head + L2x Ext body + XPG R5 320 Lumens Dropin combo set for $74.55
  12. Just went through the process of ordering a Solarforce torch off that site, but it was only charging me $2 postage, even with Australia clearly tagged in my account details. Not sure whether to proceed with the order or not.
  13. Anyone got a good site for discount LED torches?
  14. I have had kills with it out to 80 metres on rabbits and hares, but wouldn't really attempt anything further off the shoulder which is how you would generally be shooting if walking around. If you are good enough, it will easily illluminate out to a couple of hundred metres plus. Again, not recommended without some sort of a rest on most game. It will illuminate fox eyes hundreds of metres away. I'm sure there are better torches out there, but for the money, this one is great value. Claimed 1200 lumens, but probably just over half that. I do know it absolutely slaughters my LED Lenser P7 which is what I was using to start with. If you get one, be sure to grease up the threads of the three pieces or it can be very hard to get open without a vice. Cheers Shane
  15. One of these Torches Three of these double pack (3 for the torch plus 3 spare) batteries charger Adapter Two of these Scope mounts Batteries last ages, whole setup well under $100 delivered, and works very well. Looks like this

    Nsw Knife Laws

WEAPONS PROHIBITION ACT 1998 - SCHEDULE 1 SCHEDULE 1 – Prohibited weapons (Section 4 (1)) 1 Knives (1) A flick knife (or other similar device) that has a blade which opens automatically by gravity or centrifugal force or by any pressure applied to a button, spring or device in or attached to the handle of the knife. If the knife can be flicked with the hand and the blade comes out, then it is illegal by the definition above. The blade needs to be reasonably well secured when in the closed position.

I hope they aren't illegal because it would mean my pocket knife is also illegal. As long as the knife can't be flicked open it is fine.
  18. Thanks for sharing. Just having a play with it now. Have been looking for a topo solution for Australia for a while with no luck. Will see what sort of detail we can get out of Google Terrain. Cheers Shane
  19. Thanks for the link, file is quite large. I'm currently running Gingerbread (Android 2.3). Don't know whether it will be supported by Copilot, but will download when I'm in my off peak hours and find out. I use a program called Super to convert to MP4 for easy playback. You can also use Rockplayer to play AVI's and xvid/divx files.
  20. Hi, I've been on Android for about 8 months now with a HTC Desire. I have tried a few GPS Apps such as Cardio-Trainer and My Tracks, but not an actual GPS tracker. Which one did you install? I just checked out a couple on the market that look fairly simple. Most Android phones experience fairly poor battery life once you start using one of more of the radio's (GPS/BLUETOOTH/3G/WIFI). I would suggest you install Extended Controls widget or the Power Control widget so you can quickly turn 3G and GPS on and off with one press when you don't need it to be tracking or transmitting. I would turn the 3G on every half an hour or so so it has time to send out your location and then turn it off again. It is one of the biggest users of the battery, particularly if you have a poor signal.
  21. lol @ the comment about LED's being too dull. Maybe the first generation, but the new ones are getting ridiculous. This is the best $43 I've spent. Trustfire 1200 No way it is 1200 lumen, but significantly brighter than my LED Lenser P7. Add a few rechargeable 18650's and a charger and you are laughing. I also use the Deal Extreme velcro mounts, can't beat them.
  22. The only other thing to think about is the moisture problem associated with most outdoor sheds. I would recommend putting silica gel satchels in your safe, or even a stocking filled with rice to draw out any excess moisture.
  23. It won't be a problem putting it there. You will need to use 4 dynabolts to secure it to the concrete floor.
  24. Hi, I think you need the Powabeam light with the bracket, not the handle. My Pro9 doesn't come with a handle, you just get the bracket, and it fits the handle fine. Check to see if the bottom of the handle has a thread (I doubt it would).
