  1. Take a look at the Campark or Voopeak TC22 The key is the dual lens, Starlight feature, 4k and solar panel. Great day night pics and videos this was all on the TC22
  2. Works for me. I do prefer hunting now at night with thermal over day time but have been a day time hunter for 50 years I just don't hunt through the day time much these days. I have seen game laying up in covert hrough the day that I would never have seen without thermal As much as I hate the cold weather and cold winter nights I still prefer to hunt by night because you see far more oportunities with thermal but thermal is a big plus for daytime over a conventional scope even in the daylight. I've used thermal spotters in the day time with a regular scope on my rifle [zeiss] and at times I cant find in the scope what I can see in the thermal. The last good day out calling foxes with thermal was mid afternoon and I can honestly say it was enhanced because I was using thermal. I spotted foxes that were in range of my 22 hornet that weren't going to come in but were curious enough to allow them to be seen with the thermal I'm and sure I wouldn't have seen them unless they were on the move so I was was able to harvest 4 of the 6 I saw that afternoon. Not a result I have matched before or since in the midafternoon daylight with a conventional scope. EVEN THROUGH THE DAY A THERMAL WILL SHOW YOU MORE GAME. I usually reset my brightness and contrast to suit the conditions though
  3. Its a still off some film footage that I took. It came in at a trot then hit the afterburners then smashed into the FoxPro really hard. I never had the gun that day but returned sometime latter, called with a whistle from a different stand and am sure it was the same limping fox that I called in again this time to the shotgun.
  4. Simple answer" Yes" they work and work well . I have had a Foxpro Spitfire for about 10 years now. The model I have allows for 24 different sound files that I can remove and replace with new files. Some distress sounds work better than other with a big selection to upload and plenty for free . There is no need to buy the top end models for calling foxes IMO . I add mouth blown fox whistle and hand calls when I call stands. I have worked with decoys as well but don't bother much these days but there are times they add value. I call through the day and do quiet bit of self filming the action rather than night calling but day or night ecallers work well. Check out my link below to some footage I have taken
  5. ANOTHER + FOR THE DIAMOND BACK. Very good in low light .
  6. look forward to the report len.
  7. Good luck Len. I added the camera to my hunting and enjoy that aspect of it. Looking forward to seeing what you shoot with it.
  8. I have 2 IR flash cameras that have a RED glow on flash and I wouldn't risk them being seen by your thieves. There is new models that now have BLACK FLASH that's unseen on flash. http://www.cabelas.com/trail-cameras-accessories-primos-truth-cam-blackout-trail-camera.shtml
  9. Go foxpro . no contest.
  10. I THINK THE SPITFIRE IS MORE THAN ENOUGH AND I'VE WORKED MINE IN ALL SITUATIONS OVER 3 YEARS THIS NOVEMBER. EVERY TIME i LEAVE IT AT HOME AND JUST USE THE WHISTLE I SEEM TO GET BUSTED AND WITH THE SHOT GUN I CAN HANDLE THAT BUT WITH THE RIFLE SOMETIMES IT SPELLS THE END TO MY CHANCES. HAVING THEM HUNTING THE CALLER AND HAVING OPTIONS OF WHERE YOU WANT THE SOUND COMING FROM IS THE BRILLIANCE OF A FOXPRO. .
  11. I have a Predator Enticer Decoy and used it for 2 years with my Foxpro Spitfireto good effect but tried the FoxPro on its own this year. I HAVEN'T CONCLUDED THAT I NEED A DECOY YET HAVING HAD GREAT RESULTS WITH AND WITHOUT A DECOY. I noticed that there was some of the younger ones ealier in the year from the last 2 years showed some hesitation not being sure of the decoy where as this year just using the Foxpro they have to seek it out which worksa well. From now on the're becoming wiser and seems the responces drop off a bit moving towards Winter so not sure if that's where a decoy will help. Certainly had good responce without the decoy this year and might struggle to justify putting it out given how well it attracts them without one..
  12. Just a follow up on the Redfield Raider 550 now that I have had it out in the field a few times. Generally speaking unless you want to range deer out to further than 350 to 400m I'd be hard pressed to want to spend another cent. Very clear optics very cmpact good in low light and even registers birds in flight. Registers out to 580m on large targets and feel that its perfect for my needs.
  13. I'll PM you as you have lots of questions to answer.
  14. I have a mate I hunt with who has one. Works well but more often than not he uses ladders stands with a chair built into the top of them that he leaves in place. Being private land that suits that aranmgement. His climbing chair is bulky but very sterdy not something you would want to lug into the bush every time you want to hunt but certainly has it place. The last 2 deer I have harvested have both been out of a ladder chair that gave me the height for visibility and that extra ability to avoid detection not being at ground level.
